If your in the area, great traditional English pub..log fire..beams.lical fresh food.

Room, WARM, clean, super bed, if fairly basic - absolutely fine by me. You could ask if anything was missing (e.g. hairdryer). I loved the ancient pub's unassuming feel. The food was really good and very plentiful. Separate tables assigned for staying guests by a HUGE log fire.
One felt welcome without being pursued. Very friendly staff. It provided me with just the break I needed.

Had been on a tour and wanted somewhere more expensive to stay on our last night, this seemed to fit the bill. The room was very big with a king sized bed, the bar area was interesting and the food was definitely expensive but there was something missing. A bit of soul. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to perfection. I have written this review as I found the place however the owners decided in the evening to have an indiscreet conversation about my surname. I will certainly never be returning

Stayed on business for a couple of days.
Rooms although comfortable and clean could do with a bit of redecoration to bring the room up to a better standard the gloss blue wood work and patterned paper celling don't really do it for me.
On the morning of day one I was left with no hot water, I was unable to gain access to the main pub to inform anyone as I left for work presumably because I left so early. that meant I was forced to boil the kettle to get hot water for a wash. I phoned the management from work and to their credit it was fixed by the time I got back.
I was supposed to stay four days but cut my stay short as the job finished early normally I would be held to paying for all four days but I presume as a gesture of good will the staff only charged me for the two nights I did stay.
Staff were brilliant and apologetic and very friendly.
Although I didn't eat in the pub it looked good and had a great atmosphere.

Stayed her for one night with my Mum for her 83rd birthday, friendly staff, very kindly decorated her room with a banner and some balloons..... lovely white towels and bedding, a few little spiders in the corner of (high) ceiling, but we are in the country........we ate in the restaurant that evening, great food, friendly staff, the breakfast was very good too, will return with my husband next time we are in the area, thank you.
