The staff were fantastic and so friendly .
The only thing I would suggest is the meals . If you stay there for 3 days the repetivensss of the menu leaves you having the same meal a few days in the row.
Charming Hotel

The decor is so enthralling you want sit in the outdoor area or the dining room or the reading area or even your own room and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff are all keen and helpful. The breakfast choices are a delicacy in themselves. Try the Shakshouka its amazing. Thankyou for a wonderful stay in Johannesburg.

Girls Trip in JoBurg
unccocoaon 07/11/2017 15:31we were pleased as the property is true and looks like it does in the pictures. We were looking for a boutique hotel with a local flare and we got it with The Winston Hotel. The Wi-Fi was reliable other than the time when there was a conference on the property (there were a ton of people using it so the speed slowed down). There were a couple of things that were weird to us as Americans but certainly not deal breakers. There are not irons in every room (we had to request the community iron and ironing board be brought to our room to use) and the housekeepers usually only left us one washcloth for two people after service (which we had to call and request a second one almost daily). Other than those things, this hotel was a smooth as most any. There is not a large staff. We went to dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and then decided to go have a drink at the bar. Upon walking to the bar, one of the service waiters from dinner had to run over from the restaurant to the bar to serve as our bartender. That being sad, because the staff is so small you will really get to know them and they will become familiar with you as guest which is nice. The security is top notch as our guide was hassled every time he came to pick us up or drop us off. That being said, it was a welcome issue as I felt relatively safe while on the hotel grounds. If you are looking to stay in JoBurg and want a non chain local feel without AirBnB, then The Winston Hotel would be a good choice.
