Booked this inn on spur of the moment weekend in New forest with our son and daughter in law. We both had twin rooms which were adequate for our needs. Comfortable beds with nice fresh sheets. Towels were soft. Although could have been a bit larger. Bar area good and friendly, thought drinks were a little on the expensive side (£6.10) for a large wine. Had an Irish folk band on the Saturday night well worth the stay to listen to them, good atmosphere. Close to new forest and Salisbury. Downton next village along with some good cafes and pubs for excellent food. Did not eat at Woodfalls so can't comment on food. No trouble parking even on a busy Saturday night. Would definitely stay here again

Stayed here for 4 nights room was supberb ..dated but very very clean☺
Unfortunatly the locals take over the bar area from about 4pm onwards and their language was extremly colourfull ..toilets in restaurant area stank of stale urine .. hence we ate else where

This could be a lovely place to eat however when we visited (saturday 12:15) there were a number of issues that are small, but made a disappointing visit. We wanted a special lunch after scattering our parents ashes and our experience at Woodfalls was not what we expected. Having read other reviews we wonder if there are 2 sets of kitchen staff, evening and daytime weekends.
This is our fair review:
1, our waitress was a saving grace, she was lovely and tried very hard.
2, the menu is varied and offered a selection of vegetarian options which was important for our party.
3, the food order took far too long nearly an hour, there were 9 of us, however there were no other diners in the restaurant.
4, the floor around our table was dirty, with crumbs everywhere.
5, the food was luke warm.
6, the food was poorly presented, e.g my sundae glass base was covered with spilt couli, I wouldn't serve that to anyone at home, let alone a paying guest.

We enjoyed our stay here: excellent lunch served by very friendly staff. Our room was spacious, clean with pristine linen & towels. Maybe the decor is a bit tired in parts but nothing to stop us being happy to stay again.

I phoned to see if they could accommodate 17 people for a Sunday lunch. No problem they said but we will need preorders so the food could all be served at the same time. The menu was forwarded to me and everyone happily chose their meal, mainly roasts. Advice was given on the gluten free choices.
We were given a long table in the Conservatory which seated us all very comfortably. Service was prompt as was the food. The main courses were extremely tasty and all ages and diets were well satisfied.
Puddings were luscious as usual and the youngsters' eyes grew every larger at the sight of their icecreams in sundae glasses.
I am so pleased and grateful that they made our family gathering so seamlessly pleasant and comfortable.
