A comfortable stay

A lovely country pub in the picturesque Candover Valley - cosy bedrooms behind the pub but suspect they could be noisy in the summer months. The evening meal was outstanding - I had the venison liver - delicious. But I am afraid that breakfast was a major disappointment - order poached eggs on toast - eggs arrived on a cold plate and I had to wait several minutes for the toast.
Love this place!

As a business woman I have to travel a lot, so I see many hotels, inns and b&bs.
I love this place, it is cosy, comfortable, great service, great food and drink, they look after you as a single woman in a pub i feel very at ease, there are comfy beds, great decoration, good toiletries and a real nice country feel! And really good value! One of the best pubs i have stayed at in the UK without doubt! Breakfast is always awesome too!
Lovely setting, average service, tasty food but noisy rooms

We stayed as a party of 9 at the Woolpack Inn, the setting was lovely and it had all the ingredients for a good country pub (homely, full of character, bustling with visitors). The rooms are full of character, our room was made up a double but it was more like a kingsize bed (Quail Room), however we wanted a twin and they were unable to change this for us due to the staff member having gone home. If you require a twin room, you must specify this at the time of making the booking.
We made use of the private dining area for dinner, the menu had a good selection to choose from. Our starter didn’t arrive, the waitress apologised and it was agreed we would skip this and have the main course. When the food arrived it was a good portion size, presented nicely and most importantly, delicious! A service charge was automatically added, but this could have been due to our party size.
The room was nicely decorated and clean, and the toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfortable but noisy! The walls were very thin and we were kept awake by the people in the room above and outside, we didn’t get the best nights sleep.
The breakfast was a mixture of self service and table service, the cooked breakfast was lovely and the continental breakfast was nice, but the selection was limited. I ordered a yoghurt but was told they didn’t have any as the delivery wasn’t due until the next day. I had to chase this order up when it didn’t appear, one of our party also had to wait when everyone else had their food, as the order seemed to have been missed.
Nice pub with rooms

Nice country pub with rooms in the annexe at rear of pub. Room was comfy but rather warm. Walls a bit thin and all noises from other rooms where heard. Food was good but a bit pricey for what you got. Breakfast was very good and good choice. Dont think I would go again for the price paid but ok for one night stopover on route to Southampton which was 30mins away.
A solid pub with an efficient manager behind the counter

The Woolpack is well run and offers a good range of food and beverages. It is well managed and clean. The inside areas were attractively decorated - and people were clearly enjoying themselves. The outside areas were clear of litter and the seating and tables in good condition. Service was good and efficient. The food was decent pub grub - wholesome and fairly priced.
