We spent 8 days and 9 nights at Hotel Thisvi, in Stalida, Crete. The hotel was charming and comfortable and the weather was perfect. Everyone was very warm and friendly. I definitely recommend this hotel.

I carefully selected this place with my trusted travel agent in Riga, and we weren't disappointed. Dimitra (the owner) and her family are super nice people and very welcoming. Plus they speak perfect English. The location is superb -- the hotel is located right on the waterfront in Stalis, but on its quiet stretch and a bit away from its busiest part and bigger hotels. The rooms are simple but very clean. A nice sandy beach is only about 300 meters away. And everything else is close by as well -- the shops, various taverns and bus stops, from where you can easily get to any other town of the Northern coast of Crete. This hotel is perfect for families, couples or friends, who are not looking for an all-inclusive deal but want a relaxing place to stay and are interested in exploring the area. I would return to this hotel over and over again. I stayed there with my elderly mother and it was a perfect place for us. P.S. Since the weather was simply perfect throughout our stay, we didn't actually use the hotel's swimming pool. But, they have a pool too, just in case! As well as their own convenience shop, where you can buy all kinds of goodies, including snacks, souvenirs and wonderful (and very inexpensive) local wine. Enjoy!!!

I wanted to go back in time to when I first went to Greece, I found Thisvi Hotel when I followed the guy walking through Stalis using Streetview, this hotel was just what I wanted nothing flash and modern, Greece as I remember it.
OK I must admit that the owners had let the place go a bit but our stay there was brilliant, bed and breakfast, swimming pool, shade plus an onsite shop. Our son booked into the next room to us and had a good time also in fact he wants to go back.
Overall if you don't mind an old hotel this will suite, lovely owners good service and good prices, hotel and shop.

We were originally booked into Hotel Villa Mary but it was so awful I couldn't stay there, so we thought we would see if there were by any chance any rooms available elsewhere and we were so lucky to stumble across Hotel Thisvi, who were able to offer us a room with a balcony from which you could see the sea, which is what I love to see on holiday (instead of a busy main road and underpass as at the first hotel!). The room was on the small side but perfectly adequate for us, it was clean and comfortable. They gave us a kettle and some cups so we could make a cuppa in an evening. The hotel is in a great location at the far end of Stalis. I liked the peacefulness of the place. It had a lovely pool which overlooked the sea and the staff were lovely, warm and very welcoming.
It was great value - with airconditioning included in the price of the room. No wifi in the rooms but there is around the pool area.
Just across the road from the hotel you can walk down some steps to a rocky part of the beach which is great for snorkelling and the restaurant 'Romantic Corner' was lovely. We would definitely go back there.

Must admit initially i had Hotel Envy as i looked around Stalis, but i soon changed my mind.. for the great price we paid we got everything we needed and more for our holiday in Crete.. Hotel Thisvi was clean, quiet, convenient to main restaurants and shops and beach..had its own mini market, lovely pool .. favourite time was sitting looking out at the sea every morning while having breakfast but what made it special was the lovely friendly hard working family who run it. Will be back!
