What People are saying

Cosy, Very comfortable and awesome views!

Kovit S on 01/10/2017 00:48

We stayed in the Queen Charlotte suite, the room is large and beautifully decorated with a large balcony overlooking the Marlborough sounds. The feel is exactly what you want from a luxury B&B, being housed in a guest room in a large home and looked after! Michelle brought us a hot cooked breakfast to the room each morning! Homely touches everywhere in the room. She also offered assistance with anything else we may need but we were here just to relax and take in the views………which were wonderful.
Everything very good to excellent. Thank you, Michelle. We are pleased with our choice and would go back, and recommend to friends. Only thing, if I may suggest, is that the bathroom could do with some work/update!

Unexpected Delight

Chris and Michelle are amazing hosts. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, the living area of the B and B is tastefully decorated with amazing original artwork painted and drawn by the host Michelle. Michelle sells her artwork and I was tempted to take the majority of it home with me however it would not all fit into my bag. We opted to take advantage of the dinner which exceeded all expectations. Considering myself a foodie I was amazed by the quality of the food and beverages served. All dishes were expertly presented and the flavour only matched the presentation. The Mahau room we stayed in was full of character touches and beautifully presented. The views of Queen Charlotte Sound that my partner and I woke up to was nothing short of spectacular. Breakfast was a delicious affair with Michelle willing to cook to dietary requirements, nothing was a bother. Thanks to Chris and Michelle we had an amazing night and will be back in the future.

Beautiful views

I felt very let down. I booked a weekend away for hubbies birthday. Our room was shabby. with peeling wallpaper, and electric jug placed on window sill. An old wardrobe with sliding doors had been divided into a toilet as well as a wardrobe, so you either slid the door to cover the wardrobe half or the other way to cover the toilet. The breakfast was very dismal, one choice of cereal, toast and omelette. We found our stay was very overpriced, not the luxury get-a-way I had planned. We used to run a Luxury Bed and Breakfast, our charges were no where near as expensive, but our facilities we 100% better than what was offered here. Also advertised was a restaurant on site, not true. One could order a set dinner 24 hours in advance. this did not help us on the first day of arrival. I can truly say I have never been so disappointed in accommodation before, and both my husband and I are very well travelled.

Beautiful part of the world

The Marlborough Sounds is one of the great untouched parts of NZ. Lots of million year old native forests, pristine waters, ever changing views. This. house and Michelle were very welcoming with amazing breakfasts, an excellent dinner and a very comfortable room. Close to the Queen Charlotte Track, a must do for any adventurer.

Best B&B in Marlborough Sounds

Keira C on 16/04/2017 22:39

This is one of the most tastefully decorated B&B we have stayed in. We can tell from the decoration details in our room/living areas (lots of beautiful paintings and attention to small detail), to the high quality bath products used, to the way Michelle sets the dining table (fresh flowers!) that Michelle takes so much care and pride in her home.

Michelle is warm, friendly and thoughtful. On Easter Sunday, she gave us each a huge Chocolate Easter Bunny. And upon check-out, she gave us 2 beautiful post-cards as keepsakes.

Michelle also cooks up an amazing breakfast. The breakfast is not only delicious, but the presentation is also beautiful and colorful.

We wished we could have stayed longer but we will definitely be back!
