Lovely Experience

The Hotel Mediterraneo was a highlight of our recent trip to Italy. It felt like a boutique hotel although it had everything we could want. The staff was warm, courteous, and helpful, and arranged 3 wonderful day trips for us. Returning to Sorrento and the Mediterraneo would be a pleasure I'd like to repeat.
Nice hotel, great location for exploring the region

A nice hotel in a quite suburb of Sorrento. Very friendly and courteous staff. We were on holiday with our baby and were made to feel very welcome. The hotel provides a shuttle bus into Sorrento at various times throughout the day (5 minute journey) which was extremely useful and saved us a lot of money on taxis which can be very expensive in this area.
We stayed in a classic triple room which was clean and well presented. However we did find the room to be on the small side for a family (2 adults and a toddler). With a cot in the room there is very little space to move around. It would have been a great size for a just a couple. Families with one or more children should probably go for a larger sized room.
Lovely pool area, and the poolside restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was on the 5th floor, with a great view out onto the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The food was ample with a good amount of variety and very tasty pastries! We did not try the main restaurant for dinner.
The location is great for exploring both Sorrento and the rest of the Amalfi Coast. Overall a great hotel which we would highly recommend.
Roof-top Bar...

A perfectly acceptable place to while away an hour or two whilst watching other people, people watching (if that's your thing).
Completely pretentious with a bar service to match. We essentially had to wave someone over to take our order, to place another order and then eventually pay the bill.
You probably don't come here for the service. We retreated to our hotel at The Villa Garden afterwards and were glad to be back.
Absolutely amazing hotel

We stayed here in the first week in November. Everything was fantastic, staff friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was spectacular. Facilities fabulous. We stayed in a room overlooking the sea, my only regret is not getting a chance to eat in the restaurant.
Special birthday

We stayed here for 7 nights from the 27th October to the 3rd November. The hotel itself looks out onto the bay of Naples and runs a regular shuttle bus to Sorrento town center. The bus is new and in immaculate condition. The reception staff were very very good. Our travel agent had booked 2 separate rooms for some reason which would've left us paying twice for our first night. The reception staff contacted our agent and very quickly sorted the problem out. The hotel was perfect in every way. Our room was gutted every day by pleasant, helpful staff. The restaurant is on the 5th floor and looks out onto the bay through large floor to ceiling windows with doors out onto a terrace for those that want to eat outside. My wife celebrated a special birthday and the restaurant staff really pushed the boat out for her during our meal. Guys you have got it so right.
Out in the grounds there is a large pool plus a jacuzzi type pool as well as plenty of sun loungers. There's a bar by the pool, another on the ground floor and a roof top bar as well. All immaculately kept. Bad points, our room was on the first floor and as the hotel sits on a 90 deg bend from around 6:30 am all we heard was scooters accelerating away from the bend like angry little wasps. So for a quieter stay a room away from the bend would be best.
