The only positive is proximity to the airport, but I would definitely not stay here again. The neighbourhood is very noisy (train, motor vehicles and loud music). The room was small and the bedding very old (but clean enough).

Stayed one night as a couple. The room, although clean was very basic and overcrowded with two double beds with barely space to move in. The bathroom however was dirty with remnants of previous visitors's toothpaste on the tap as well as a blod smear on the basin. There was no shower curtain and I had to request an extra towel and soap. Staff however were very friendly. Basic amenities not in the best side of town. Thumping music from outside the fence kept us awake till midnight and the slamming of other peoples' doors in the long corridor was disturbing. The food we ordered was however tasty and it had a small bar. Wifi worked perfectly. Definitely expected more.

For close to airport over night this works do not be put off by the neighbourhood it is clean and basic - expensive for what you get bit worth it to save the hassle of dealing Dar traffic. Tv channels mainly local and poor reception

Let's be honest: people come to this hotel for one reason only-- to kill time/take a shower/sleep a little bit during a long layover in Dar es Salaam (because that is NOT an airport you want to sit around in for more than a couple hours. For that purpose, this hotel serves wonderfully and at a great price ($40/night, $5/airport transfer as of this writing). There is hot water (not in all rooms, though, ask), good water pressure, good WIFI connection, functioning AC, nice big towels.... I'm not sure what else you really need? Sure, the bed isn't super comfy and it's not very quiet, but it's literally a 5 minute drive from the airport. Take what you can get, my friends. Better than sitting in traffic for 2 hours each way to go to a nicer hotel in the city center.
I stayed here twice-- once from 11pm - 5am and the following week from 11am-4pm. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I emailed them prior to arrival (though for the second one, only the day before) and the driver was waiting for me when I walked out of arrivals. Having these sorts of logistics all figured out is a godsend when you're tired and travel weary.
Thank you, Transit Motel Airport! You made a 2 day flight journey much more manageable.

We stayed there for an early flight out of DAR. The rooms were fine. The advertised breakfast was non existent - it was toast and jelly and they tried to charge us for a juice. Not a great location unless you need to be close to the airport.
