Travel Inn exterior PIK belies the ominous, post-cataclysmic, trash deep, abandoned cars, auto repair environment that fronts the entry and seamy entry hall & stairs. A single floor ‘hotel’ is very over-priced ($15-20) by Indian standards (cockroaches, dirty toilet area, non-working fridge, stained sheets) and compared to some Sudder Rd’s (30 min away) much better area & hotels (I suspect Indians pay MUCH less); wifi OK, alleged short term lack of running water BUT large & small plastic bucket substitute & large coffee-cup water heater suggests opposite. My room surprisingly OK. The young woman and man who run this place do a good job given their situation. MY advice: Do NOT stay here --1 nite max.

2 star only for the receptionist and staff behavior. Room was clean in first look but when we were about to sleep, dozen of small insects were there in bed. All we can do was to clean the bed by ourselves. Toilet seat was broken. Air Conditioner was of 90s. You'll get 2 slices of bread and a cup of tea for your breakfast,this is all about travel inn. I will suggest you to not visit this property until they improve.

Turned up at 8pm, after a 20 hour train and calling the hotel twice to book and confirm, to find out they had given our room away. The guy at the desk then wanted me to pay an extra Rs. 500 to upgrade room. When I declined another guy walked us around the area for about an hour negotiating with other hotels for a good price. Ended up staying at Rock Star Hotel, would recommend it if you get a good discount!

the entire stay was good, it was a business trip. hence the stay would only in night. kol was too hot but the hotel gave complete relaxation.
beds are comfortable and air conditions also too good and silent too.

Initially we are little quested to find the address. From out side, it gives an immediate impression like may not be good. But Interior, amenities are quite satisfactory. A room with double bed, designed chairs, tea poy, live size mirror, cupboard with hangers, tiny fridge, flat screen tv with dish connection available. Almost all region channels along with prime English news & entertainment channels can be viewed. A separate and effective split AC installed at rooms. WIFI is excellent but due to raining issue during my stay the same interrupting in middle. Quite in reach with main areas of park street SB road AJC road.
Two areas can be addressed immediately by this hotel is quick service and deploying proper staff which is not sleepy/lazy like which is the current trend.
This is a definite excellent choice for budget choice tourists and this guest house is having travel connect to arrange Kolkata sight seeing as well outer trips like Ganagasagar etc with reasonable tariffs. Ideal for family stays also
Chek out time is 12 noon but there is a lucrative discounts if one is checking in late nights/early mornings which depending on negotiations while booking.
