I really enjoyed my stay at the Travelodge Santa Maria. It was so easy from booking on their site, getting my room keys, the hot tub to the breakfast. Everyone was really nice and accommodating. The room was clean except a little area on the floor boards in the bathroom. Bed was really comfortable and parking was easy. It was also central to lots of stores and restaurants.

Got to the place checked in front desk was okay. Went to room as soon as we went in it had a horrible smell. The top door bolt was broken and the bottom door bumper was broken and metal was sticking out, the fire alarm detector was completely removed from its location and broken. The towels had gunk stuck to them, the floors were filthy and the sink was disgusting. It looks like they had not wiped down the sink counter. It was really noisy with people hanging out in the parking lot and smoking and talking loud, couldn't sleep. Called the front desk to let them know about the lock, door, fire detector, dirty towels and dirty sink but no one ever answered the phone nor did anyone call back. At check out I told the front desk guy and he just said "okay we'll check it out" very nonchalant about it. It was a dirty location and unsafe activity going on it seemed outside.

Our third stay and while the rooms are still nice the pool seems to have been neglected a bit and wasn't inviting.
New breakfast room was nice but a bit soulless compared with the reception area.
Its a shame as we enjoyed our previous visits and its well placed for Shaws.

We had just stayed two nights at a pricier name brand hotel. We decided to try Travelodge and were surprised at the spacious clean room. Breakfast in the new dining building was good with made-to-order omelettes. Adam and other front desk people were helpful.
It doesn't have a fancy lobby or look nice on the exterior but suited our needs.

Car park on site in front of the complex near the street, but not near the rooms. Plenty of room to park.
Staff friendly and helpful at check in
Our room a nice size, comfortable and clean.
The shower worked well
The air con worked really well on a very hot weather stay.
TV worked well but no guest guide book in the room to tell of TV channels, ice machine location, pool hours etc
The room location was quiet, with lovely landscaped gardens and a pool area.
There are plenty of food options and shops close by.
Overall a good overnight stay here.
The BBQ was not what we were expecting, so we didn’t use it on our stay. It was a large brick pit with a big grate on top- so we would have needed a wood supply to fire it up. We were hoping it was going to be a gas grill and then would have cooked our dinner on it.
