Stay here in November, unfortunately only one night. We could not fault this resort, from the welcome/ check-in to the checkout just outstanding.
Each villa is out of the way, private and elevated in the forest with it's own plunge pool.
Restaurant is first class.
If you are looking for a romantic getaway this is it.
This place is not cheap but unlike some places we stayed in Sri Lanka meets expe tions. We will return.

This is a very beautiful and quiet place, situated on a 1916 rice paddy farm and beside two beautiful lakes, one of which is an 11th century tank of the Anuradhapura era. We highly recommend the morning nature walk with Mahesh - very knowledgeable and a great bird spotter. If you enjoy wild things in their natural surroundings this is the place to stay. All staff were very obliging and the food in the restaurant is excellent.

What an oasis. Great hotel with uber luxury
We had 3 nights there and enjoyed it so much. We also did a safari to an elephant park and had a great guide

This was one of the first places we stayed in Sri Lanka and it was hard to beat. This was our introduction to Sri Lankan food and wow, the food here was amazing. The curries were excellent. The breakfast pack on our early start to Sigiriya was generous. Private and spacious rooms. We loved biking to breakfast and around the resort. Great pool. Friendly staff. October is a quiet period but the weather was fine, a little cloudy, but it rained only on the way to see the elephants (for about an hour). Highly recommend. Would have loved to see the grounds when all the frangipani's are in bloom.

On our trip through the cultural triangle in Sri Lanka, we very much enjoyed staying at the Uga Ulagalla hotel. They operate not on the basis of rooms, but villa's that are located at approx. 1 km from the reception/restaurant. This is the only small inconvenience in this hotel, certainly when it rains. The transfer to/from the reception area can be made by extended golfbuggies, or in case the wheather permits, by bikes, of which each villa has two. On the other side of the coin, the distance guarantees a very quiet and private stay.
The villa's are very well equiped, and avail of a small private pool/jaccuzzi. The food in the restaurant is great, and the service of the personel is friendly and efficient.
