Appalling
on 21/05/2017 07:32Where do I begin? My sister and I came up to see my daughter graduate from Chico State. Thinking that we were staying in a different hotel, we discovered that this was the same place we stayed three years ago under a different name, and swore we would never stay there again. Previously this was the Vagabond Inn.
The only thing different was the signage, some new paint, and cheap pictures. The blood stained mattresses that had been stacked by the pool had also been removed.
Otherwise these were the problems we encountered. The curtains were uneven and falling down. The showerhead was way too low. The linens were super cheap and the toilet paper was scratchy. The indoor outdoor carpet was nasty and frayed. The electrical work was substandard. The main light did not work. The bathroom door had been cut to accommodate the toilet that was too close to the door. The phone had a sticker on it that had information on it for a hotel in Sacramento. There were nasty stains on the blankets. There were flying bugs in the room and drunks outside the room. The so-called breakfast consisted of cheap coffee and stale packaged pastries. This place was so sketchy that we had to put our luggage in the car during the day because we feared that cock roaches would crawl inside our bags. All this for only $194 per night plus tax. We would've been better off sleeping in our car!
Poor Outweighed Good
CarPiloton 19/02/2017 16:27Good bed, clean room, a bit small but we made do. Heating good, good TV but no guide info and no HD that we found - limited channels. Good shower in a bathroom with a good vanity. Internet adequate.
Breakfast not available when they said it would be - behind locked door. I could see it was meagre at best - oranges, small sweet somethings, coffee. Didn't really miss it. Bathroom linens and supplies of the cheapest variety. Could not get credit card receipt on checkout at 8 a.m. - office locked! Quite expensive at $95, maybe because of the long Washington weekend.
Dropped rating from average to poor because of the unattended office, lack of breakfast, and a big disturbance outside at 10 pm or so - someone was loud and banging things, sounded like they were trying to evict him, talking about calling the cops, and someone in a uniform banged on the room door for 15 minutes or so.
Disappointing - I would not return.
Not a good place to stay
Darlene Hon 30/01/2017 03:40I saw some of the reviews, was skeptical. Pulled up, was more skeptical with the people hanging out. I loved that it was near the downtown, and the front desk person said the hotel was nice and safe.
I am in the room now and cannot wait to leave. Taxis come and go, cars come and go, and people are out in the common areas being loud. I I think I will be awake all night, I cannot wait to get out of here.
Horrible!!!!
Wanda Won 22/05/2016 03:34Where should I start? This hotel usually books at $69 a night. For graduation week they charged over $200 a night. My 2 night stay was $560. OMG!!! Flithy, wouldn't take a shower there if they paid me! Dark inside because they don't want you to know what it really looks like. Noisy people with lots of cussing, I think they rent by the week and month. Would not recommend this place to anyone! Stay away!!! Big hole behind the door, rust in the bathroom, toilet barely flushed, bathroom fan didn't work was all rusted. Dirty walls and doors. Just plain dirty!!!
Chico Testing for Jessika
scastillo2on 17/05/2016 00:42The room was filthy. The TV didn't work. I was leery of sleeping in the bed so I sprayed it with Lysol. The bathroom floor was dirty. The amenities were laughable. The micro pillows looked ridiculous on the king bed. I wouldn't stay here again even if it meant that I would have to sleep in my car.
