Hotel Uzbekistan as it's name speaks for self. Had got a chance to stay in this center of the city hotel . The rooms were fair enough and quite a good stay.
The time i vsited was wedding season i suppose could see the bride and groom. Was good time to be in.
The breakfast was awsome which was spread out at a large area.
Value for the money spent.

Very good location. And that's all there is to this hotel. Unfriendly staff, poorly managed, bad rooms, inadequate air conditioning, poor facilities and poorly managed. Bad experience. It's very large, lots of rooms, looks rundown, rooms are not well appointed, virtually no room service. Only good thing is the location.

Nothing much to write about, wonder how it is still called a star hotel,when there is not much of efforts made to make it clean , totally run down and a very very old hotel in tashkent. Since it is a group tour hotel , you find a lot of tourists , they hardly stay for a day so no one cares it looks.

The first two nights were wonderful, as they provided us with interconnecting rooms. We had a welcome bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine. Fantastic hospitality. Unfortunately, that wasn't repeated at the end of our stay. Perhaps because we arrived very late from an internally delayed flight and the hotel was fully booked as they were hosting some gymnastics tournament. The rooms were old, smelly drains and not interconnecting. The breakfast bar is not bad by Uzbek standards, but getting decent coffee is a struggle unless you want to cough up for it - mind you a US $1.10 might be worth it! Location is super central facing the Amir Temur monument park and right in front is Taschkent's underground. Definitely worthy of a ride with its stunning architecture and Russian Art Deco design!

I felt I was caught in a time warp returning for the third time since 2005 and nothing had changed even the same plastic flowers and trees were decorating the ground floor restaurant. Soviet in style and attitude. its worth noting that prices are in $ and converted at a rate stipulated by the hotel which was around 3600 som -1$ There is no tonic in Central Asia ( apart from at the airport ) so you are limited in "mixers" to Pepsi, Fanta and 7UP. Breakfasts were good with a chef to make omelettes or fried eggs but slices of bread were labelled "toasts" but there was no toaster. Our group also had a dinner and lunch at the hotel which was of poor quality. Rooms were dated, showers poor and there was little attention to health and safety issues...windows not fixed with a sheer drop outside
