The good, the bad and the ugly
Carl Son 30/03/2017 01:25Spent three nights at Vander Valk. Played golf twice at the golf course (Lakeside), ate at the restaurant a couple of times and went to a wedding. The restaurant (The good), had good food, reasonably priced and good help. The golf course (The bad), was a nice course at one time, with a good layout. Unfortunately, there is now significant deferred maintenance and precious little turf management. The things we learned when we got there (The ugly) included a $30 fee for paying with a credit card (Mastercard), a "standard" $98 cleaning fee and the threat of an $85 charge if we were one minute late in checking out.
Absurd Refund Policy!
LGlatelyon 06/10/2016 02:43We had reservations for the weekend for a fellow Firefighters wedding out here but, unfortunately hurricane Matthew is going to hit Central Florida. We were sharing a rental with two other couples, all of whom the men work for the Fire Dept. as well. As per usual whenever there is a State of Emergency, Firefighters are some of the first people to get mandatoried to work and that is exactly what happened. We contacted the front desk and were told no refunds and we could only get the cleaning fee back. It's pretty puzzling to us that in a State of Emergency nothing can be done and it's absolutely appalling that in this situation, no refund could be given. Quite a shame! All of central Florida is bracing for impact from this storm.
Disappointed
on 14/08/2016 05:11Rented 3 bedroom 2 bath unit. Room was very worn. Carpets had lots of stains. Sofa was worn with holes. Advertisement made seem like pools, fitness center and spas were on complex when reading materials when they are actually 15 minute drive away. Rooms were good size but disappointed with amenities.
Nice houses, good service form staff
BDL999_12on 21/04/2016 16:31We rented four houses for a golf group. The houses are large with four bedrooms, and swimming pools. While hot tubs are available they are way overpriced. The resort area is well kept and quiet, residential like. The town is nearby to get groceries and alcohol. All in all, very pleasant. It was a little hard though to get four houses next to each other - it depends on the individual owner of the house and when they rent it out
