Lovely place to stay, although not near city centre. Great for business and people who want to be near the main roads. For families with children there is a Nice outdoor playground.
Food is great And iT has a lovely warm atmosphere

Stayed in Van der Valk hotel for 2 nights recently. An excellent 4 star hotel, with spacious rooms, bars, restaurants lots of parking space. The breakfast spread is vast and varied. Barmen were particularly helpful and served us food from the restaurant at the bar. Highly recommended!

Further my last stay in Middelburg, I highly recommend the following:
- the city is just fantastic with a friendly people, very good restaurants, pubs and bars.
- the hotel is well situated near the city center (5 minutes by bus), very quite (no noise at all) front desk staff very friendly, the food is excellent (except the bar)? Housekeeping very efficient, generally the hotel is very good.

The rooms are huge, with very comfy beds and loads of space. There is a separate toilet and an enormous bathroom, with an excellent shower, bath and loads of toiletries, including flannels changed every day. The breakfast is outstanding, as is the evening meal and there are tea-making facilities in the room, including 2 free bottles of water every day and a fridge to put them in. The Wifi is free and works well in the rooms and there is a relaxing foyer with plenty of seating and a relaxing bar.

The Hotel is situated out of city, but not very far off train station, the room s are spacious and it has a great restaurant and has great food. The hotel has a separate bar and a smokers lobby is just beside the entrance. Overall good value for money.
