We stayed here for a night on the houseboat and it was an experience we shall never forget! Peaceful and stunning scenery. Food was exceptional and staff were attentive and respectful. After we got off the boat we stayed and used the hotel facilities before our flight. We were given a room to use to freshen up. We cannot wait to return and totally recommend this hotel. Despite language barrier we found staff helpful and respectful.

Been there for vacation with family and I should say it’s a must visit place if you really want to get rid of all your busy life beautiful location with lovely staffs who always ready to help you out housekeeping service is excellent they went out of their way to decorate our bed really artistic way thank you all we will visit soon

The facilities appear to be near 5 stars. Really beautiful setting. Lovely, big rooms (we stayed in floating cottages). Nice interior decor of rooms, fit my style, though showing some wear. Really enjoyed the yoga platform and warm pool. The service was one of the worst I've ever experienced. I would like to say that some of the problems we experienced could be due to language barrier (I speak English and most of the staff's English was limited), but it definitely goes beyond language barrier. The airport pickup was totally fumbled, leaving my husband looking for the driver for an hour at the airport. In trying to rectify the situation, I made multiple calls to the front desk and they were completely incompetent or giving incomplete answers to a time sensitive issue. I asked to speak to a manager on multiple occasions but one wasn't available.
On one occasion, I asked for several cold water bottles to be delivered to our room, and it took 8 calls to the front desk and nearly 2 hours for them to get this right. The service at the restaurant was mixed (good and bad). The chef was lovely and kind to help with dietary restrictions (veg and allergic to dairy). There were a lot of flies in the restaurant and patio outside restaurant. The waiter simply said there were a lot of flies but didn't try to do anything about it.
I was excited about the yoga platform, but no yoga classes are offered.
The phone's speed dial buttons didn't work properly, so I kept getting routed to different departments.
All in all, it was a headache and I was glad to leave, which was too bad because it had the potential to be great. The issue is that there are not a ton of nice hotels available in the area, so that being said, it may still be a decent option.

Everything is just top class in here.. beautifully setup. Each element in the hotel was a delight. Excellent room , good food and an amazing staff. Me and my wife truely enjoyed our time in Vasundhara Sarovar.

Located in a quiet corner of Allepey called Vyalar, Vasundhara Sarovar is a beautiful lakefront resort ideal for a couple of days stay on your Kerala trip. It has a beautiful lobby, picturesque land-scaped gardens, a quaint temple and butterfly garden, swimming pool, a couple of private water bodies and water-front seating pavilions and hammocks from which to enjoy sunsets.
The service is outstanding, right from front-desk to house-keeping to the restaurants, especially Mystic Spice.
We had the Superior Room, which was quite big considering it is their basic room and has a huge balcony.
They have several complimentary activities, like tea and snacks by the water-front in the evenings, paddle-boating, cycling and the sunset cruise. (Tip: Don’t wait for the sunset to take the cruise. Sunset is much better enjoyed from one of the hammocks or benches facing the lake).
It’s a bit far (1 hour) from the Kumarakom boat jetty, in case you’re planning a day cruise on the backwaters. They do have their own house-boat, but probably needs to be booked in advance. There is a taxi stand right outside the resort, which we did not use as we had our own cab.
Overall, we were very happy and would strongly recommend it for family stay.
