Just want to thank all the staff at this beautiful hotel for rescuing our holiday after staying in a dreadful hotel in Puerto Plata and got sick, the staff went above and beyond for us all and really made us feel welcome!! The hotel itself is just paradise with the most stunning views, the food is amazing and I cannot wait to return here!
You really can relax here and enjoy yourself and the staff really make the holiday!!
5 star and so much more in my eyes!!

Stayed here for 10 days in October (off season). The staff were wonderful, basically became friends with everyone here while we stayed. Among the other restaurants in Cabarete, their hotel restaurant by far is the best. It was a comfortable, safe place to stay. Great pool and beach access. The proximity of this hotel to the local grocery was very helpful for us, as it had everything. I can't really write any cons. It's a brief walk to Vela, if you are into windsurfing or kite surfing

I would say this is a great place to stay however it does need some improvement. I stayed in a junior suite room. It was ocean view but no balcony in the room and the windows were extremely dirty making it hard to see the ocean. Sun light enters the room at different angles in the morning making it hard to sleep in.
Breakfeast in my opinion is just completely horrible! Low quality ingredients are used.
The staff is very friendly and helpful with the exception of one of the security guard at night. Some other vehicle was blocking me in and I asked the security guard that why did he permit that to happen and he went and grabbed the keys from the office and told me to move the vehicle myself that was blocking me in. He was very rude and unpleaseant.
Beach access needs work it is very dangerous to walk pass the beach in front of the hotel.

Our room was perfect & the grounds are well kept. The pool is beautiful & had lots of umbrellas. Great spot to watch the wind sports in the bay.
The staff were all super helpful & sweet. The food at the restaurant was fantastic, fresh & well prepared. Would definitely go back to Valero!

We have gone to Velero for several wonderful dinners over the years. The food is great and we often get the special and leave satisfied. We take our own wine and sit to watch the sunset, then enjoy the meal. It's a great place to go for special occasions or when visiting...or just to enjoy a wonderful meal any day! Usually it's not crowded so we enjoy the tranquility and great service!
