Old beautiful building. Huge rooms with good, little loud A/C.
Very calm neighbourhood and close to the famous fishernets.
Mr. Vasanth was very helpful, gave good restaurant hints and other support.
He is the good soul of this accomodation.
Higgly recommended stay.
In need of serious investments

We were booked into the Victory Dawn for three nights, the hotel is well situated and has a lot of potential. The staff are friendly and try to be helpful but they have very limited resources. We arrived around 11h00 and the air conditioner in the room did not work. During the day three different people came through to try and repair it, all to no avail. Around 18h45 a huge free standing AC unit was moved in but that did not work either. One of the workmen tried to explain to me that it was normal that the AC did not work because it was hot! In our room the AC did not work, one of the two fans did not work, several light fittings were missing bulbs and there was no ventilation in the bathroom. The hotel has no services apart from breakfast. Finally, we were moved to another hotel. The building has a lot of potential, but needs a lot of work and investment.
Excellent staff but poor breakfast

Great location, clean and tidy, good wifi but only in the lounge area, helpful staff and spaceous rooms but a very poor breakfast, noisy aircons and down stairs rooms have wooden ceilings above that can be a problem. Try the breakfast at Oy cafe and the Art cafe opposite it in Burger str.
Lovely historic hotel, attentive service

We stayed for only one night, sandwiched between Munnar and a houseboat cruise. The rooms (we had 3 rooms for 9 of us, with an extra bed in each room) were very clean, spacious, comfortable and air conditioned, and did not feel at all cramped even with 3 to a room. Bathrooms were likewise spacious, and had adequate hot water (a luxury we did not often enjoy in India during our 3-week stay). The hotel is less than a kilometre from the Chinese fishing nets, etc. and close to FabIndia and other nice shopping. Also close to Dal Roti, where the food was both good and inexpensive (but the restaurant is not licensed for alcohol). The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast normally starts at 7:00 but because we had to be on our way by 7:00, the chef came in extra early to prepare breakfast (toast, tea and omelettes) for us at 6:00. The hotel was a little on the pricey side for us in high season, but because we were so many and it was just one night, it was doable. There are cheaper options in Fort Kochi, but no doubt not as nice.

We stayed here for 3 nights two in the starting of our 10 day trip and one night in the end, a day before departure The hotel is in walking distance to everything the beach, shops, restaurants and the rooms are nice, clean with fridge, very comfortable bed, large bathroom The staff were very well mannered and smiling.it is an Old fashioned style hotel The furniture goes very well with the style of the hotel. Only negative was the A/C ..First day we had the breakfast at the hotel the menu had good choices of fresh cut fruits ,omelets and pan cakes along with usual tea and coffee while rest of the days we had breakfast in near by cafes…
Good Value for the money ..i would recommend for a reasonably good stay at fort kochi if location to places to see and do is your priority
