Delightful As Ever

We have stayed here several times over the last 7 years and always enjoy our overnight. A characterful and delightful little hotel with a pretty patio garden. They now have a restaurant since our last visit 3 years ago, it was cosy and attractive, a large, laminated menu which didn't bode well but the food was freshly cooked and good. It is one of the more attractive areas of Tana to walk out in and there are several restaurants just a couple of minutes walk away. Recommend the French pancake place almost next door and Kudeta for fine dining, just round the corner. One morning we had an early start and continental breakfast was set out early for us in the breakfast room. Free wifi in the bedrooms.
Lovely Stay!

I stayed here for a night at the end of an exhausting tour of Western Madagascar and it was just lovely! The staff were excellent and very friendly! They offer a complimentary massage when you arrive which was gratefully received. The hotel itself is a beautiful old character home and the room was generous in size and very comfortable. The restaurant on the property was fab, highly recommend the food and the pineapple mojitos! Would definitely stay here again if I return to Tana! :)
Mixed experience

We (family of 5, 3 kids age 6 to 12) spent 2 nights at Le Pavillon de l'Emyrne. We were put the first night in a very average annex full of mosquitos, clearly not been used for a while and not worth the money. The second night, we moved to the main house and the rooms were much better. Shame our first night in Madagascar was a bit tarnished by this experience. We asked the hotel to organise a guide for us to discover Antananarivo but the guy they chose was just a driver which is ok if it would been communicated to us properly. The transfer from the airport at 50€ is not worth it. The driver had to wait for another guest and a taxi costs 15-20 euros.
Quirky

We had planned to be here for 12 hours allowing us to experience both an evening meal and breakfast but due to re-scheduling of "Air Malade" and an 8 hour delay saw us arriving at midnight...but they had provided us with sandwiches as an unexpected bonus, and when we got up and had breakfast (which was excellent) wished we had been able to eat in the restaurant as well. Alongside this the rooms were stunning, each decorated to different styles and with the additional "solar" in the rooms well proportioned and relaxing.
French style hotel with quirks

Stayed twice with a few days break in between when looking around Madagascar recently. It's an older French style building typical of the city of Tana. The rooms are large and quite comfortable with everything working ok except for the wifi which is also typical for hotels in Madagascar.
Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English well. Breakfast was fine and the evening meal I had their was very good. I found the fact there's no lift a problem as the stairs not very wide. I've no doubt had I asked for help it would have come. It's close (walking distance) to some fine restaurants and they provide you with a map to find them. It's also close to some of Tanas tourist spots and peaceful as well. Certainly recommend it to you.
