Excellent choice for families with young kids and babies to spend a lovely weekend.
There were plenty of activities, in our case they were under the Halloween / Castañada theme.
Beautiful place with excellent views, little farm and a warm/indoor swimming-pool.
Friendly staff; good and varied food; large room for a family of 5 (2 kids + baby).
The only concern was the baby from our neighbours who woke-up at 5 am! ;-)
We had also the time to visit the salty mountain 10 mins away!

Could be better.
People in kitchen should wear gloves and chef´s hat.
Rooms were very clean.
Swimming pool shall be cleaned regularly.
Activities, were focused specially for small kids.
Location and enviroment were very good.

perfect place and perfect concept of familiary vacances. The inconvenients are that is focused excesively on local tourist (catalan language of staff, you have yo insist to be atended on other lenguaje) and meal menu is very limitated

I have to say I really love the place were the Hotel is located. The activities offered by the hotel for the kids is really good and the people taking care of them are very good as well. This year, activities with babies are offered, which is an additional plus. The front desk and room services personnel is top quality and really friendly.
Regarding the restaurant, the overall quality of the cooking has not improved. Many of the dishes were overcooked, though the raw material might be good, it cannot be appreciated.
Let me remark the waiters, Zouhir, Youssef and Daniel, excellent professionals taking care of all guests details.
The olive oil is now extra virgin, as expected. And it is still surprising me that (filtered) tap water is not offered for free by default as it is on the hotels from the same group (or at least was a few years ago).

We were recommended this place by a local mum as she said it was really fun for young kids. The place was very basic. The playground was very small for a place that houses so many children. The "farm" consisted of two donkeys some chickens a couple of rabbits and ducks. The farm "tour" wasn't that. It was two women talking. They didn't take the animals out or anything. The gymkana consisted of some hoops on the ground and a stereo blaring out tunes. The room was clean but the bathroom tap was about to fall off the wall and it took 25 minutes to fill the bath. Overall we found that the activities weren't really engaging and you had to do it yourself. The location was beautiful and there was a very small veg patch. We ended up filling our time by using the pool which was nice.The dining room hours didn't suit us unfortunately (8-10 breakfast 1-3lunch 8-10pm dinner) as our 3 year old gets up early and is in bed by 9. The corridors are extremely echoey and we couldn't get our daughter to sleep until 11.30pm because of all the screaming kids coming back from dinner running down the corridor. We understand how noisy kids are but I think its bad planning to have the beds right next to a noisy corridor with no carpet. We've stayed in very cheap motels all through france where the facilites are better for 47€ per night!We booked this place, which was very expensive for 2 days at 360€ for full board with a garden room because we thought we could relax in beautiful surroundings. There was nothing relaxing about struggling to fill time, and having to drag out activities. Also there is no shop where you can buy snacks which given the amount of kids is a missed opportunity to make money and to help parents out.we left a day early after just one night. The staff were lovely but very few and far between which I was surprised about a a place supposedly set up for kids.A real shame. I think Cardona is desperately in need of an update because apparently Sant Hilari is much newer and nicer.
