Very clean and modern & new hotel. Biggest shortfall was not having much of a pool area. Great location...Short walk to the spectacular beach Dona Ana. And very close to Camillo beach and many places nearby to eat. Hotel also had beach towels and beach umbrellas to borrow.

We chose Villa Doris for our stay in Lagos and we had a great stay, but there were a few negatives.
The building is attached to a massive abandoned hotel, which can be a bit quite dark and creepy walking by it at night. We arrived late and there isn't 24hour reception, so we had to wait for the concierge to come from a different location to check us in. The first night we were in an apartment with a large terrace, but unfortunately there was a big issue with wood lice and potato bugs coming into the apartment from the terrace.
The next day we were offered a different room and it was completely clean and no issues. The concierge we met with was extremely helpful and she was great. After that we had a good stay because the apartments are steps away from a beautiful beach.
I recommend not requesting the room with the big terrace if you can help it, but the other room was great and clean. Other than the first night, it was a good stay.
Close to Beach = Bonus

The hotel itself is quite nice. The room was well appointed, bed comfy, nice view on our side, opening windows, AC, small balcony, great kitchen. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay. On the downside, the walls are thin and we had noisy neighbors. The parkade is dark and creepy and hard to get a car in and out of. And there is a derelict abandoned building next door which is also creepy, especially at night. We liked being right at Praia Dona Ana and the trails heading west to Ponte de Piedade. It's an easy 10 minute walk into town and at night the area is quiet. All in all a terrific location for those liking a beach type holiday.
Great spot. Great service.

Perfect location, close to what I would consider the best beach here in Lagos. Nice, but decent walk into town. Great and friendly service, especially Suzanna on the front desk. 2 convenience stores close by
Nice place to stay, but some negatives

We stayed in Villa Doris for one week at the end of August.
We found the apartment to be well equipped, big and comfortable. We had asked for a balcony and we were delighted to have received a large one. We found the location to be perfect for the beach and convenient to get into the town. However, there are no street lights on the road back from the town and it is very dark. While the abandoned building next door was unnerving at night, it was unavoidable. The hotel at which the pools were located was very close and very nice and well equipped.
However, upon arrival, we had to wait until 4.45pm to check in to our room. While check in was advertised, and confirmed by the staff, to be 3pm, the staff made no effort to apologise nor to explain why we were delayed.
After several hours in the room, we noticed a large number of insects on the balcony, mostly wood lice. These insects would often appear inside the room as well. We would often see large numbers of ants in the bathroom. We left a note for the house keeper, asking that the apartment and balcony be sprayed for insects. While cleaned and swept, the insects reappeared the following day.
Overall this is a nice apartment complex with excellent facilities, but the delayed check in and insects in and around the room was unfortunate.
Eat at Onda Norte which is less than 5 minutes away, it's beautiful!
