Perfect

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Only 15 minutes by the hotel shuttle to the centre of Florence. After the hustle and bustle of the city, to return to this oasis of calm is perfect. First class service from all staff members. The rooms are lovely. Mention by previous contributors of noise from traffic and trains I felt unnecessary , we hardly noticed it. Can't wait to return.

What a beautiful villa, amazing staff, amazing property and just all round heaven.
The shuttle takes you to the heart of Florence every hour which is perfect as the villa is set in the beautiful countryside.
I proposed to my girlfriend (now finance) and it was just perfect

Absolutely Stunning 5 Star Experience

Both the property and staff make Villa La Massa an amazing experience. The overwhelming look and feel, the luxury and attention to detail made our 5 day stay spectacular. I realize after reading many TripAdvisor Reviews, there’s grade inflation – people write 5-star reviews when its really not (we stayed at a few of these places), but in this case, trust me it’s 5-star. Check out my pictures. We found the property on the American Express Platinum Fine Hotels and Resorts and so glad it was listed.
Thank you to Tamara, the Front Office Manager and Lorenza. They treated us so wonderfully and made my wife and I feel like Royalty. So did the rest of the staff. The check in staff, the breakfast staff, the bar and restaurant staff must have had wonderful training. The cleaning staff did clean up and turn down service twice daily and they are meticulous. They folded our clothes, cleaned every inch of the room and they left gourmet Villa La Massa chocolates on our bed.
Some other things we loved. The Villa allows you to combine an Italian Countryside luxury experience with all the benefits of being in Florence. While we love the City, we wanted to get away from the crowds. The Villa is just a few minutes outside of Florence and they provide Free Luxury Shuttle hourly (takes about 10 min).
They must have poured millions into the luxurious furniture, artwork, beds, mirrors, etc. The Room doors were artistic hand made. The Beds are fabulous. Huge 4 poster Bed with elegant linen sheets and pillows. Slept great. They have pressed linen towels over the terrycloth towels in the bathroom. The Shower has a temperature dial that allows you to adjust the flow to an exact temperature – loved this. They also have heated towel racks. Other small elegant details include the controls next to the bed allow you to turn on a Do Not Disturb light, control all the lights in the room.
And to add to that they have a great workout facility and Spa. Jacuzzi, Roman Steam Bath, Sauna, Cold Showers with Ice and Relaxation Room. I used it daily. Also got a much-needed massage after a couple weeks of travel – therapist was excellent.
Then you have the outside area, pool, huge finely landscaped gardens and dining area located next to the river. An adjacent Villa is the Restaurant where breakfast and Dinner is elegantly served.
We eat at the Restaurant and it was delicious. We also had drinks at the Bar a few times which had very large selection. They serve food there, but we didn’t take advantage of it.
Only thing I would suggest to the Hotel is to add power outlet for computers or phones on the desk or on the nightstands. We had to charge our stuff in the Bathroom.
As I understand the Villa closes for a few months and reopens in March. We’ve traveled extensively, having stayed in 1-stars to 5-stars. This place is amazing. Highly, highly recommend Villa La Massa.
An amazing stay

We recently stayed here 3 nights as part of the LHW Unlimited format. The hotel is simply stunning and is everything and more that all others have mentioned. Peaceful location on the river. Quiet. Beautiful grounds to the front and back of the hotel.
I will not rehash all of the other numerous accolades. However a couple of things to mention.
We have had the great fortune and luck to travel a lot all over the world. This is truly a blessing as the ability to see and learn about other cultures adds acceptance and tolerance in a society that badly needs it. I say this not to be preachy but to make this point; we have never, ever had better service in a restaurant, resort, cruise, hotel, etc. than we receive from Emilio at this hotel. I would go back to simply have him and his team wait on us. Thank you.
We moved rooms and ended up in the building behind the main complex. The view was to die for. Thank you.
You definitely need a car. They have a shuttle that is uber convenient and included. However a car provides you freedom to raom and soak in the beauty of Tuscany. Just stay off the major highways and make sure you can drive a manual transmission car!
Highly recommend.
Lovely Villa

We recently visited Villa la Massa for several nights stay. It is a beautiful property that is close to Florence but still far enough out to feel you are getting away from the city. The staff were outstanding. They were not particularly crowded during our visit, and we were delighted to have been upgraded to a junior suite which overlooked the courtyard and pool. The decor is stately and elegant including our room and public areas. We used the convenient free shuttle service once or twice getting back into the city, but found it easier to use taxis to return. The grounds are very well maintained and we enjoyed walking in the herb gardens. Breakfast was nice with a good selection, and dinners were lovely with great food and attentive service. Our only complaint was the level of smoking, particularly throughout dinner. While we know this is common in Europe, it was not pleasant during dinner to be surrounded by chain smokers, especially at a 'high end' restaurant. The staff did try to accomodate us and moved us indoors to the farthest table on one night, but it did not help too much. Due to the design of the dining room, the large windows/doors are fully opened off the terrace (which provides a lovely view), but lets all of the smoke waft inside. We had an early departure, and the staff brought us room service breakfast since we had to eat and leave before they opened the dining room for the morning. Staff arranged our transport to the airport and were very friendly and attentive.
