We are diamond resort members and a weekend away at Thurnham Hall cost us almost £400 in points, accommodation only.
My husband had booked it as a treat for my 50th birthday, he'd told the resort staff that the weekend was a special occasion but this wasn't acknowledged at any point.
We'd decided to take advantage of the restaurant, the breakfast is expensive and not buffet style. Our Friday evening meal was average. However it was our Saturday evening meal which totally ruined our weekend, starters arrived promptly, after a wait of another hour we tried to make enquires but no food appeared, when the waiter told us at 9pm that there would be a further wait we walked out, our meal had been booked for 730, we had hoped to enjoy the evenings entertainment.
The resort is in the middle of nowhere, we had no food with us, at no point did anyone show concern as to what we were going to eat. There was no one on site to complain to.
We've complained since and have been offered a £50 voucher for the restaurant, we live an hour away, fuel would cost almost as much.
We were totally dissatisfied with our stay, particularly in view of the cost to us, we've been totally dissatisfied with the response to our complaint, such a shame as the resort is in a beautiful location.

Stayed in Thurnham hall for 3 nights with 6 adults and 4 children. We were slightly worried on arrival as we had read some previous bad reviews but we definitely need not have worried! We had booked one cottage that slept 4 and a 2 bedroom apartment which slept 6. Both were modern as both newly renovated, clean and extremely spacious. We’d read some previous reviews stating that the apartments weren’t well equipped and you needed to take your own towels, hairdryers etc but that wasn’t the case as they had everything we needed. We ate in the restaurant one night and couldn’t fault the food. The bar was well priced. All staff were pleasant and helpful. My only complaint would be that it was a shame the WiFi wasn’t free as it cost £7.99 for 24 hours for 4 devices. The WiFi was quick however and could be picked up everywhere. Thurnham hall is only a short drive into Lancaster centre. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Had a great time!

Visited Thurnham Hall over Halloween and loved it! Beautiful and relaxing grounds along with wonderful apartment accommodation! Great spot for visiting attractions, places of interests nearby etc.
Loved sitting by the open fire in The Great Hall and restaurant food was to a high standard at a very reasonable cost. Will definitely be back!

Stayed here for my Birthday, stayed in one of the apartments, it was absolutely stunning and spotless, so much so I didn't want to go home, I would definitely recommend! What a gem of a place I will be soon!

This hotel is a little diamond.
The grounds are amazing, the apartment was luxurious yet simple. Didn't get chance to make use of the facilities as we stayed one night but would certain go again.
The only downside was that the hotel hold £100 as a deposit upon arrival. Okay if you have a credit card but on debit it locks out the money until check out.
