Out of the way and quiet

Villa Victoria is not a hotel, so don't expect a 24 hour restaurant and a gym. Instead, it is a quiet location with good internet, attentive help when needed, comfortable and large rooms, easy access to a grocery store and restaurant down the road, and a safe place to feel at home. you'll be in a residential neighborhood, so nightlife is far away, This was fine with me, as a good night's sleep was most important during this work trip. no amenities to note, and you should clarify exactly what you want for breakfast the night before--less salt on the eggs might be a reasonable request.
Wonderful Experience at Villa Victoria

I was overwhelmed by the cool, serene environment of Villa Victoria guest house. The service is wonderful with charming attendants, it is more than "home away from home". Extremely clean environment, water never stopped running, free internet, saved and secured. Electricity is very stable, the standby generator is noiseless. What a wonderful place to concentrate on the completion of my PhD Dissertation.
How I wish I could stay here for more... Many thanks to the International Institute for Advanced Studies, (IIAS), University of Ghana that accommodated me in the Villa Victoria... the experience is indeed very wonderful!

Best guest house north of South Africa

This is definitely the best guest house I have stayed in in Africa, north of SA. I have been to 23 different African countries and this is definitely the best! Everything is neat, everything works, the room was spacious and the staff very attentive. The breakfast was really VERY good! I am sad I missed out on Tilapia for dinner because I had to check out sooner than expected. Pat, you and your staff really understand what travellers need. Thank you! I really enjoyed my stay. All the best - come to SA to Moindis in Pretoria when you come to SA! The guest house was excellently situated out of town and 10 minutes drive from where I worked on the outskirts of Legon. Kind regards, Lola.
Comfortable stay, in annex of Villa Victoria Guesthouse
OxfordRomeMum on 06/08/2014 10:18
I stayed at the Annex of the Villa Victoria Guest lodge (about 5 mins from the main hotel), on a work trip to Accra. I was with 3 work colleagues, and we stayed for 6 nights. On the whole, the rooms were large (with exceptionally big bathrooms!), very clean, and insect free. The Annex consists of 2 buildings, each with 4 rooms, and dining room + common areas (although meals are served in the dining room of one building). Therefore it was very relaxed (almost like living at home), since we just had to come downstairs for breakfast, and breakfast was usually only with our small group.
The staff were generally very polite and helpful, for example, buying mangoes for us when requested etc. The few dinners we ate at the Annex were very good, however, they have to be requested in advance. This is not so convenient if one does not know the day’s programme beforehand. We found that cheaper taxis could be found from outside, without getting the staff to call a taxi. The airport pickup/drop off rates also had to be negotiated, as they have an unusual system where transport for one passenger costs $x, and even if 3 people are sharing the taxi, the cost becomes $3x! The internet connection was good, apart from in the upstairs rooms of the 2nd building. We felt very safe and well looked after. It is indeed far from the city, but ideal if one needs to go to GIMPA for work.
I have stayed in similarly priced hotels in Ethiopia (Addis) and Uganda (Kampala), and this was definitely a more comfortable stay. My rating above (very good) is therefore in this context.
