++++++++My husband and I were first introduced to Hotel Villa Volpi 10 years ago and we stay there every time we return to Italy. The villa is quite beautiful and the view is like something out of a movie. You just can’t believe how beautiful it really is. Originally, the building was a convent in disrepair. The owner’s family bought the place and put over 10 million euro in the place to begin its restoration. Since then they have continued to upgrade the property, adding new rooms and modernizing the older ones. There is a beautiful infinity pool with shaded sitting areas and other shaded outdoor sitting areas where you can relax and enjoy the gorgeous view. In the afternoon enjoy a nice aperitivo, including a glass of their spumante and a tray of snacks, including olives from olive trees on the property. The breakfast there is very good and plentiful from the Italian perspective. You may not find bacon and pancakes, but really why would you come to Italy to have American food? Breakfast for them is generally a coffee and pastry. This breakfast included meats, cheeses, eggs, fresh tomatoes, breads, fruits, and at least three different types of sweet bread, i.e. coffee cake and pastries, cereals, juices, teas and of course a variety of Italian coffees. We have been many places, including the Amalfi Coast, Venezia, Alba, Milano, and Firenze, but there is no place that takes your breath away like the hills of Tuscany and this villa has one of the best views out there.

We stayed in a suite, which was very comfortable and with a Wonderful view. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Amazing tuscan hills are surrounding the hotel. Pool is great, bathrooms were fresh as were the rooms in general. Only two things that were a bit negative were 1. that we didnt have wi-fi because our suite was in a separate little house. Didnt really mind though since we had access 20 m away! The other thing, we had an amazing little place to ourselves outside, like a little private terrace, but there were no lights except a rather disturbing lamp- we switched it off and bought candles. Didnt have time to eat at the restaurant unfortunately, but it seemed splendid. Very Happy with My stay!

I'll start with the good- the building and the hotel grounds are absolutely stunning. The view is to die for. The pool area is lovely with a beautiful infinity pool. The drive to the hotel was actually not bad and not complicated at all. The man at the reception gave us a recommendation for a restaurant near by that was amazing with fresh Tuscan food. The breakfast was nice with fresh fruit and different options.
Also, the hotel makes great wine.
Now for the bad- for the price we paid and as this hotel supposed to be 4 star hotel- the room was very disappointing. This building used to be a monastery and honestly this is exactly the feeling you get from the room. Old, small and plain. Theres a weird smell in the room and the decor looks like it's been there for ages. The bed was really uncomfortable and again- just felt old.
Also, there is no Wifi in the room.

My husband and I booked this hotel for a quick stop on our trip between Portafino and Rome. It is absolutely beautiful! We stayed it the main hotel. Just and FYI when trying to find with GPS look under Villa Volpi. We got lost for over an hour looking for it. Once we arrived we were brought to our room which was very stuffy and dark. Once we opened the windows and pulled the drapes back, it was perfect. Very clean. The bathroom was very nice and totally updated! The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant was very nice but only offered limited selections. It was amazing food. The views were absolutely amazing. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was very nice. I wish we had more time to spend there so we could explore the nearby area. We will be back!

Excellent view of Tuscany, perfect location, authentic feel of the venue. Nice rooms, very clean. wonderful meal. Excellent service and interesting facilities. Original and unique experience. Lovely landscape for walk around. Nice pool.
