This was our first time in Benidorm with 2 children age 7 and 1 and I was a little apprehensive due to the typical reputation of Stag & Hen do's and the hotel being a big high rise. However, Vistamar is great. No problems checking in, they took 100 Euro deposit, which I think is fair enough as I can imagine rooms being left in a state on some occassions. The only downside was that I only found out about the deposit a few days before going through a review a guest left. It was nowhere stated in our travel documents but that wasnt really the hotels fault.
We had one of the old rooms, as firstly I didnt want to be too high up (the newly refurbished rooms were starting from Floor 10 I think and up) and also deposit is higher. We didnt mind though, as we havent planned to spend our holiday in the room anyway. Staff are always helpful & they do some discounts for some of the waterparks & zoo, which means you pay at the hotel for discounted price and show the receipt at the park.
Yes rooms are basic BUT clean and spacious. Everything you need is in there, bathroom had plenty of towels (bathroom was also refurbished), TV, plenty of storage and kitchen had fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and cooker. WIFI is free and you are given a code on paper to set up your devices to the wifi, it was working great in the room and down at the lobby, only a few occasions where it took a while to load something but this wasnt a big problem. Air con cost extra of 4 EURO per day but well worth it as its needed. The reception area is big, they have a bar to purchase drinks. The Pool is very well maintained, every morning there were 2 guys cleaning the area and getting the loungers ready. the loungers cost 3 or 4 Euro for the full day. The shop which is next to the hotel is great, has everything you need and prices are not too bad. We mainly got snack & drinks there for the kids and a little fruit & bread for the room.
The location of the hotel is great, everything is no more than 5 min walking distance, pubs, restaurant, beach & shops.
We stayed here in July this year and currently looking to book for next year again. I was looking for a different hotel just to try something new but location & experience wise I keep getting attracted to the Vistamar every time I look for deals, so I guess this will be the one to go to again.

Excellent location. Somewhere to get your head down very basic but reflexs in price. Right next to outside market wed and sun. Bedding cleaned when asked at reception . Deposit of 50 pound each returned when room checked on leaving. Titanic pub next door ideal with english menu staff in hotel and pub very friendly. Very small incline walk back fron beach 15min slow walk . Avoid local supermarkets and go to larger ones on beach front and old town fraction of the price. English prices for meals . Beers cheap.

I was here in October with my Mam, daughter and friend. It was a lovely place to stay. Spotless clean and very spacious. It had every thing you needed like kettle , toaster, microwave,cooker and fridge. The kitchen living room and bedroom were all separate which was great. Clean towels three times and sheets twice.The staff here were very friendly and always helpful.

We stayed from Monday to Friday in the 4 nights we never had room cleaned beds made or changed no clean towels and no bins emptied I find this very unsuitable the hotel also never did any food and the pool was a bit far away from hotel and not very big also the sun is always behind the hotels as they are very close together so we went to the beach for 2 days it was lovley the beds were like kids beds very small x

This place offers value for money and is close to bars etc but not too close. Visited mid October for 1week with a group of friends who've been before. I was apprehensive as not stayed in apartments for a while but needn't have worried. Apartments are basic but clean, staff friendly and helpful. The pool area quite small but who needs a pool when such a fab beach is close by. Close to a good eating and drinking place, The Titanic, had takeaway pizza from there sat round the pool. We had an end apartment 1404, and the balcony was huge. Because the bedroom was on the end of the building we hearrd no noise from neighbours but our friends were in the middle of the 15th floor and they experienced noise. The walls are quite thin. It's a no frills place, you only need a clean place to sleep, didn't bother using kitchen as it's so cheap to eat out, just used the kettle. All in all had a good stay, if could guarantee an end apartment again we would revisit.
