Stayed for the second time here at the end of October 2017. The hotel sits on the edge of the Trastevere area within about 20 minutes of casual walking from Campo di Fiori and another 15 minutes from the pantheon or Piazza Navona. A walk of about the same distance in a slightlyi different direction takes you through the Jewish ghetto area to the Paizza di Campidoglio. Best of all you're just 10 minutes away from a whole pile of wonderful restaurants in Trestevere.
The hotel itself is a palatial structure with impecibly clean rooms and public areas. The morning breakfast is very good with a wide selection of foods. The staff is attentive and very helpful. Finally, the pricing was quite reasonable, especially for a hotel of this quality in Rome. Great location, wonders of the world within walking distance and fantastic restaurants nearby! What more could you ask?

We stayed for 3 days with our 15 months old son. The first morning we was told to sit with him in a private room. The tables in the room were not set and the room itself was very boring if you compare sitting in the hallway. Next morning we came for breakfast again and came to this same room, no tables set, no chair for a child in sight. Since we didn’t want to make a fuzz about it we sat down and waited for the table to be…half set. No napkins, no salt and pepper, no sugar.... The third day we decided to sit down in the hallway instead as we had seen not many people sitting there and absolutely not many people walking by those tables. The woman in the breakfast service told us we wasn’t allowed to sit there. She told us to sit in the room (the tables in there not set the third day either). We refused and asked why we could not sit in the hallway; we were told that a lot of people would walk there with bags. HAHA! Didn't see anyone there with bags during our whole stay and there was plenty of room for a child in a chair by a table. It was very obviously that she didn’t want us to sit with our baby in the hallway. This is really discriminating!!! Since we refused to sit in the room she finally pointed out that we could sit down at the end of the breakfast buffet. Just in the middle of where everyone was passing by to get their food. As if that would be a better place to sit. I would have given this hotel FIVE STARS if it wasn’t for this unfriendly act by this woman. It was very obviously that she thought that a baby should not be seen or heard. I don’t pay expensive money at a hotel that claims to be 4-star to be treated this way.
Otherwise, this hotel is very nice, has a good location and very spacious rooms. Other members of the staff were very friendly and service minded. But if you have kids…don’t go there…

The historic building with its beautiful chapel and interior garden is truly special, also the breakfast was great, but our room just didn't have amenities or comfort I would expect at this price range. The staff seemed a bit too formal and pretentious, but most disappointing was an extra surcharge I found later on my credit card bill for paying with US VISA credit card. No other hotel during our month in Italy added any surcharge for using that credit card.

This was our first hotel after all the AirBnB apartments we took during our 2 week Italy vacation; and it was the perfect one. Location-wise - walking distance to all bars and restaurants in the area. The room was spacious enough and very quaint. And a nice cute little church in the hotel was good too. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would surely go back.

Beutiful hotel in walking distance to almost everything. An old monastry. Lovely surrounding. Clean. Good breakfast. Extremely welcomming staff. Amazing view from the roof terrace. And even a small church in the building. Big rooms and delicate/big bathrooms. We did have a delightful stay there. Recommended.
