Good hotel stayed before, but this time it was horrible. Room Number was 105, just above the Anjali Restaurant. Around 11pm started hearing the loud noise of hammer and drilling on the wall. Continued till 12 midnight and went down to check. The Manager said they have some work in the restaurant sealing and we should bear with them sorry. After a dispute, they decided to stop drilling and still the whole night hammer and other tools where making noise. Around 4.30am they started drilling again. Went down to complaint and no one responsible was available to respond. Again after a dispute, they stopped drilling.
While checking out requested to see the Manager and the receptionist called him and informed. The manager refused to meet us and just wanted to console us with 10% discount which I refused to accept. After paying one of the highest rate in Guruvayur, are we not suppose to sleep peacefully? If they know there is some work going on like this, either they should give an upper floor rooms or say rooms are not available if other rooms are booked already. We travelled a very long distance before reaching Guruvayur and tired. Explained all this to the Manager and still they are not able to understand and co-operate. Very bad experience we had this time with the room and with the behaviour of the manager. Hope they will understand and treat customers well. Anyways, we decided not to stay there any more.

The Vyshakh restaurant which is supposed to be the only organic restaurant in guruvayur served us tasteless dosa and sambar.
Any smaller hotel nearby would have had better breakfast.All the dosa items,were disappointing and had no authentic south Indian taste.

You step out of the hotel into the temple precincts. They have a good vegetarian restaurant serving organic food. Rooms are decent .Wifi works. Taxi service is available though costly. Check in and check out time is 2 pm. If you come early in the morning bargain for half days rent that day. Friendly staff.

This is a miserable place even by general Guruvayoor hotel standards. Booked for AC deluxe room more than a month in advance. On checking in AC in room was not funcitonal, saw a lizard running around and room was stinking. Was offered then to move into a sister hotel across the road or shift to a non AC room.
Had booked for a cab to near by train station through the hotel. The cab turned up 30 minutes late.
Inconsistency in the advice on local amenities by staff. Apparently the hotel doesn't have a manager. Managing Director claims to be regular visitor to New York and puts the hotel in same league as Marriot chain of hotels in US.
THIS IS A CRAP HOTEL FOR COST.

The Vyshakh is perhaps the hotel nearest to the temple; in fact you can step out of the back gate of the hotel onto the outer grounds of the temple; a 3-4 minutes walk from the main entrance and the queue formation area.
Vyshakh is neat and clean, but the non-airconditioned room that I stayed in remains the smallest hotel room that I have seen; so is the bathroom. However, it is ok for an overnight stay, and especially so for the Nirmalyam pooja.
The hotel has a good restaurant and is close to many other eateries. Free wi-fi is available. So, altogether a good place to stay in at Guruvayur.
