I had a lotta expectations when I booked at vythri village for a holiday because it is the only 5 star resort in Wayanad apparently and had amazing reviews online!
It's a 22 acre land with everything so close to each other(congested)! There is construction going on so outta the 3 restaurants, only one was functional. I hoped the spa would be a good one cos it says it is a luxury resort spa but our local parlour would do a better job.. absolutely disappointed. Dint expect such a renowned resort to have someone inexperienced as a masseuse. The rooms have scenic views.. that's about it! No special facilities.. the consumables in d bathroom are below par.
Well, the resort has courteous staff which is one of it's biggest positives. The meals were decent and the music shows during dinner were amazing. We had a nature walk and zip lining which were outsourced to another adventure sports company.. they were brilliant! My only relief..
Vythri village, Wayanad could have been much more considering it's so well known!
Disappointed!!

The property is idyllically located with jungle foliage all around. One enjoyed the natural habitat of jumping squirrels, and monkeys who left you alone. The people were charming, helpful and always smiling. The cottage was excellently located, as it was surrounded by foliage, which gave it enormous privacy. Meals were mainly catering to the Kerala cuisine, which may not have suited, especially Europeans, due to their spices, which was found in all the dishes. A bit more varies, some continental dishes would have been appreciated. Al round a very chilled out 4 nights. Hair Pin Bend roads are in poor shape.

The place is just out of a book on fairy tale, honestly would love to see my last days here but coming to the trip we'll the place and the food has a thumbs up but they still lack the professionalism of other 5 star properties, also you need to be careful about the leeches they are in plenty, the monkeys and the giant malabar squirrel is a delight to watch
Nature, Pure Nature, and great people!

We went visiting Wayanad and couldn’t get a booking in Vythiri Resort due to short notice planning. We stayed in Sterling Wayanad, but very much wanted to visit the Vythiri Resort, and therefore drove out to the place one day. First, the receptionist told us that the place is meant only for guests staying in. Then we asked for the General Manager, who came out and greeted us very warmly. The GM, Mr C K Gopalakrishnan, turned out to be a great guy, offered us welcome drinks, and allowed us to have our lunch in their restaurant (Restaurant manager Manoj Kumar too took personal interest to explain the preparations of the buffet spread!), and also arranged for a guy to show us around the property. It’s a great nature place, with natural water streams cascading down, hanging bridge over the stream, so many different species of trees including cinnamon (I saw it first time). It’s all like a beautiful jungle outing! The cottages too are very well thought of and designed. Some of these with their private swimming pools, especially to mention their premium cottages which have a glass floor and swimming pool underneath, and the big bed spread out on this glass floor!! We were impressed with the overall serenity, beauty and the purity of all that we saw. Yes, they have tree top rooms too, out in the deep jungle, which we could not visit as the 4x4 drive jeep of theirs wasn’t available to take us out there.
Next time- stay there only, and enjoy the nature and get a good massage!!

It was totally different experience to stay in such a lovely place in the forest. They have got everything u need. The food was yummy. The natural pool was great. A bit costly. But can pay for a once in a life experience. And as a final tip, beware of the monkeys
