Given previous reviews I made the decision to book here
The unit we had was very tired.
The complex itself does not have the feel of a holiday destination and given that more than half of the 33 units in this complex are occupied by permanent residence I guess this is not surprising.
Our car parking allocation was so cramped we could hardly open the doors of our car as the park beside us obvious was occupied by a permenant residence and had a camper van a bike and heaps of other belongs squishing up against our space.
Some of the common areas had bikes supermarket trollies and all sorts of junk parked outside.
The unit itself was in need of maintenance. The toilet had obviously been cracked at some time and was patched. The fans in the bedrooms were old and rusty
We booked a water front apartment and I guess you could say it was but on the first level all you really see is trees across the road in the park in front of the water front.
Wifi was offered at $10 a day. In this day and age where most wifi is free this was surprising. We also had notes telling us that if we did not put the dishes in the dishwasher or wash them and the unit was not left clean and tidy as we found it there could be a charge of an extra $50 per hour to clean the unit. Seriously we leave accomdation clean and tidy but paying good money for a supposedly 4.5/5 star I don't appreciate notes telling me what have to do .
Certainly would not consider staying here again

The hotel staff (owners?) was very warm, nice and helpful, the location is central and the apartment was amazing, very big and included all we could ask for, including washing machine ,dryer, and a large balcony, we stayed therewith our three adult children, and we all enjoyed.

We enjoyed staying at this well equiped swim out apartment. Great location and great customer service. Lots of tour information available. Very comfortable and clean. A home away from home. Would definitely stay again!

Everything about Waters Edge Apartments was seriously fabulous. Large, spacious, modern apartments with beautiful views of the Esplanade and ocean.
We couldn't have asked for a better location... Directly opposite Muddys Cafe and children's playground, making it excellent for families and only a short stroll to the lagoon, Cairns Aquarium and a myriad of cafes and restaurants.
Our apartment included absolutely everything we needed to make our stay as easy as possible, not to mention super clean. I loved the daily house keeping of making beds and changing towels if required. Complex managers were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I HIGHLY recommend Waters Edge Apartments! Simply fabulous!!!

My family had the pleasure of stsying in a 3 bedroom apartment for 4 nigjts at the start of August.
The location is perfect for your families and the apartment was just stunning.
Everything about this complex reflex the rating we have given it.
We will definitely be making this our go to place when we come to Cairns on a regular basis
