Great place with lot of historical artefacts

This is place where present king (although just for namesake) stays. Also part of it is converted into heritage hotel. I went there as tourist rather than staying in hotel. This place has some real marvellous craftsmanship. Also it has a museum showcasing lots of historical artefacts.
They also offer to take picture on silver chair by paying extra but I found that as waste. They have a store room sort of setup where the chair is dumped.
There were some renovation was going on and the temporary restaurant was horrible.
Still will rate 4 due to craftsmanship and collection of artefacts.
The Maharaja way stay.

This century old palace has been renovated to make way for tourists. The royal family stays in the property as well.
Needless to say that the hotel is beautiful. And one could generate expectations from this place based on what i experienced.
1. The stay: The rooms are big, naturally illuminated and airy as well. The beds in the rooms have mattreses which must be looked into.
2. The food: The food is good. But the service is awfully slow. However, the food is average. And i have to repeat- service is awfully slow.
3. The washrooms: Very important criteria for any hotel. Just two words. Absolutely fine.
4. The ambience/location: Located in the heart of Jaisalmer, the fort is a walking distance. Very close to the railway station aa well. Bang in the middle of the market. Get your purse and go ahead and shop.
I was traveling in a big group with friends and family and i have to add my two cents here. The hotel administration can hike up their services to keep themselves in the upper class of tripadvisor reviews.
The room that i stayed in had no blankets (we asked for it at night and we got it).
The toiletries didnt include moisturiser (which is a must considering the dryness in Jaisalmer).
The ac in my room was not working. I didnt care much about it though. But i believe before handing over a room to the customer, everything must go through a strict check.
The water pressure in the faucet was too less. The mystery was not solved by the housekeeping executives.
P.s plz do not miss out on the museum in the premises. And you will quite enjoy it if Mr Pramod guides your tour. He did a very good job for us.

Royal stay at royal palace - Mandir Palace

One of the best hotels at Jaisalmer. WelcomeHeritage Mandir Palace is not only a hotel, it is a palace with Raja's descendants are still living in one part of it. It has museum inside and is a popular tourist attraction at Jaisalmer. You will be mesmerised with the architecture of this beautiful palace. It has got a nice swimming pool for you to relax amidst royal ambiance. Don't miss out roof top restaurant after dark. You will get a wonderful panoramic view of "Sonar Kella" (Jaisalmer fort) with full lights on.
I recommend you to spend 1 day enjoying your stay at Mandir Palace, enjoy the architectural wonder, take candle lit dinner at the roof top restaurant with view of "Sonar Kella" at the backdrop.
Rooms are spacious with large attached bathroom with all modern amenities. You will surely feel the royal touch during your stay.
All staffs are so nice and professional. Breakfast choices are limited but no complain.
Comfort with a royal touch

An ideal place for sojourn amidst relics of the princely times of Indian Monarchy, the rooms display the legend and lore of ancient India, it's culture and lineage. The in-room and house keeping services though so not meet the present day swift service requirements. All in all an ideal holidaying place.
