Never forget maintenance and cleanness of a good old place!

Seven years ago, I already liked this place. It still has the nice colonial feeling and it still is a very good place to stay in Kota. But: never forget the maintenance and cleanness of a good old place! The surroundings, for example: I know, it is a public garden, but even then it should be kept clean. On search for a fitting plug to reload the mobile in a room, one probably finds all those dust-mice, you never see otherwise and german tourists love to sleep with opened windows - so have a critical look onto the bathroom-window-frames (the bathroom-windows can be opened), which are never opened unless those Germans come! Anyway: thanks for a nice stay with a real good dinner, breakfast and helpful, polite staff.
Beautiful property, genuine hospitality

I came to Kota for a brief trip combining work and pleasure. This hotel was everything I expected and more. The property is nestled in a quiet, forested area not far from the train station, and the building is beautiful and historic, inside and out. My room was spacious and comfortable and looked out at the central courtyard. The staff at Umed Bhawan did not just provide good service--they showed a genuine hospitality that I have rarely encountered elsewhere. When I requested their assistance in booking a car, the gentleman at the reception repeatedly emphasized to the taxi service that they should send a reliable driver, because I was a female solo traveler. Then, while I waited for the car, a staff member gave me a tour of the various historic rooms of the palace such as the durbar hall. Even after I checked out, when I was waiting in the lobby for my train time, the staff took great care to make sure I was comfortable. Highly recommend and will definitely come again.

The reception, housekeeping and security staff is very professional and courteous.
They offer friendly and personalised service. Rooms are grand and well kept in line with their royal heritage.
The gym needs to be functional.

This is one of finest hotels in Rajasthan and undoubtedly the best in Kota. The rooms are spacious and nicely maintained to keep the original feel of palace. The hotel gives you a feeling of living in the time of palaces and the hotel staff does everything to make the stay perfect. The sunlight pouring through colourful window panes during sunrise, fresh & green palace surroundings with access to open large teracce makes you feel relaxed and away from the clutter of city buzz. The hotel serves delicious food to add to overall experience. It's a dont-think-just-book hotel if you are traveling to Kota.
