Khajjiar to Dharamshala & Mcleodganj

on 19th June after breakfast in heavy rainfall we left Khajjiar for Dharamshala. Again, the roads were great and drive was fantastic. use the new bypass highway for the drive. WelcomHeritage Grace is at the entry point of the town and you can esily miss it, hence seek directions as you enter the town. The Hotel is a heritage property and if you have interest in Indian history, every wall and corner has photographs from Pre independence to Independence with famous Indian personalities, We took the rooms on the first floor, which were huge with more than adequate sitting space and well equipped.
A short 5 kms drive takes you to McLeodganj, known for His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The drive into Mcleod Ganj, though short can be tiring on account of tourist traffic and driving in single file till you find parking in the multilevel parking area opposite the His Holiness Dalai Lama temple.
You will find the Tibetan bazaar lined up along the entire road once you enter McLeodGanj with several places to eat and shop.
With rains coming in, the balcony at the WelcomHeritage Grace resort was a wonderful place to sit around with tea and pakoras in the early evening.
It was a wonderful resort, great food and very good service. One of the best places to stay in Dharamshala.
After 2 nights stay we left for Bir Billing, our paragliding destination.
Hideous place

Do not got here, unless you like lots of dust, poor service and food that makes you sick. Its also situated miles from anywhere. Not good when on a north india trip. Save yourself time and trust me, book elsewhere.

Have been to Dharamshala many times, but this one was the most refreshing breaks of all times. Staying at Welcom Heritage Grace hotel has been a very good experience. The stay was very good, staff has been very hospitable and rooms and the view was just wonderful. Thanks to bonzo travels for suggesting this wonderful hotel, it is surely a must stay for a rejuvenating royal break.
Best hotel in Dharamsala

I recently visited this hotel with family. From the very first look, it looked like it's not what we had booked because the place was not very illuminated but the stay was good. It's an old heritage property being maintained very well by the staff. The interiors have that old charm and the galleries are done with historic photographs which may not suit everyone's taste. Rooms are big and equipped with traditional artifacts. Big balconies too. The staff arranging for breakfast and dinner were very courteous and did to their perfection. Menu is not too elaborate but they take orders, serve fresh and do justice to their guests. Their tomato soup, chicken curry and kadi served at dinnertime was authentic and delicious! The courtesy extended while serving will stay with us for long! Little expensive as they are seemingly the best in the area and maintaining the heritage.

Hotel is good with excellent food options staff is very friendly , rooms are spacious with art from old ages traditional hotel . The only disappointment is no tourist destination near by hotel as Macleodganj and Naddi are far from location
