This budget hotel is hopefully in the midst of major renovations--but not sure how you'd ask for a refurbished room vs Room 216, which was close to the most tired room I've ever had in the USA. No mattress pad, so the bottom unfitted sheet didn't stay in place; pricked my foot on the carpet tack strip while entering the bathroom (carpet edge worn away to nothing, thus the exposed tacks; soap/shampoo miraculously dispensed usable product, despite absence of "buttons" to press; fridge molding has 6" gap across the top; etc. But hey, the AC unit worked; we did sleep through the night with the freight train horn serenade; the hot shower did work. Desk staff kind and courteous, but unable to effect change.
I guess it depends on which room you get.

We recently enjoyed our third stay at the Welcome Inn (the first multi-night stay). I am baffled at the mixed reviews I have read on this site. I can only assume that some rooms are better than others. We have stayed in 102, 104, and either 106 or 108. Our experiences have been similar. The Welcome Inn shows some wear but all in all is very comfortable. The beds we have had are excellent. The furniture is in decent shape. The plumbing and A/C work well. You get a (working) microwave and fridge. The Inn is quiet and the area feels safe. We have encountered none of the criticisms in other reviews. We will gladly return to the Welcome Inn anytime we are visiting Southern California.
Worst motel ever

This is the worst motel ever. Do not stay there. There was no ac in the back room, no iron or ironing board. No blow dryer. Housekeeping only showed up once. Had to ask for towels and toilet paper. People opened the front door without knocking. The only good thing is the channel selections on tv. There was also a huge roach that came out of nowhere. The microwave worked only half the time had to unplug it to stop it from beeping. Take my advice don't stay there it's dirty and the staff is terrible. Also the Wi-Fi only worked in the morning.

Our room needed a paint job, walls were dirty, old towels, one towel had a big whole and had stains, i could hear the guest and squeaky floors above us. They also charged my card even before i got there !! I didnt like that at all. The furniture is old and out dated.Wont be going back..
