My wife and I stayed here and it was amazing! Unlike anything else. We stayed in the maharaja suite which was beyond great. Mr Rafiq and Riyaz were great hosts. They helped with anything we needed. The breakfast and dinner experience was also wonderful. I definitely recommend!!

I dreaded staying in houseboats in Dal lake at Srinagar hence this time I chose Gurkha houseboat at Nagin lake. And I sum it as excellent. The houseboat No. 2 was excellent from All angles. There are 3 rooms downstairs and one honeymoon suite upstairs. The drawing room and dining room was excellent and very well maintained. Bathrooms were very good and clean with running hot water. The room size was big and we would place three big bags properly. There is also a locker to keep the valuables. Our rooms was equipped with a oil sigree/heater which kept the room warm. Ambience inside the room was very quiet and very peaceful. Room service man Mr. Reyaz was excellent in service and behaviour and we wish him our best in the future. Food served was quite tasty, very homely and served as per our choice. There was very low spice in the food as per we ordered. In all, it was excellent and we hope to stay back longer next time . Shikara service was also good.

Located at the ever peaceful Nigeen lake, we fell in love with the decor of the houseboat to begin with. We had booked the suite room for our two day visit to Srinagar and I would recommend you do too. We were bowled over by the hospitality and the ever helpful Riaz who was the caretaker for us during our visit. The owner also made it a point to visit all the guests in the evening ensuring that everybody was comfortable. Do check out the emporium run by them right behind the house boat for authentic kashmiri collection of dresses, salwars, carpets etc. We arranged our cabs for sight seeing from here directly. Will definitely Checkin for my next visit too

We stayed in a 4 bedroom Houseboat. The Shikara ride on the Nageen lake to reach the house boat was really very nice. We were welcomed by a very polite staff with pipping hot masala chai. The sitout at the front of the boat is one place where everybody would want to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather and the ever changing play of mother nature.
Food was just like a home cooked meal.We enjoyed every bit of our stay on the houseboat.

This was the first time I choose to stay in any houseboat and Gurkha houseboats gave us a great experience. We enjoyed our entire time at the houseboats and wished we could stay long. The timing was such that we were the only ones at the houseboat the entire time.
The view was great as the boat overlooked the lake, with mountains as a backdrop. Early morning sunrise around this time was a real good experience. In terms of rooms, they were clean and well-equipped. Each houseboat has a care-taker to look after the needs. We had all three meals at this place and enjoyed them. There was nothing fancy about the food we preferred typical homely Wazwan dishes and loved them a lot.
A special mention to all at the houseboat - Imtiyaz, Riyaz and Zuhoor - who made our trip memorable. Thanks.
