What People are saying

Best in everything

Ásdís A on 21/01/2017 03:44

We came to hotel Wartherhof with our 5 children and it was 5 star everywhere. Kind and amazing staff, food was exellent, swimming pool area great, spa exellent, the new rooms perfect and the location brilliant... thanks a lot people at Wartherhof for perfect family-ski-vacation. Warm wishes from Iceland.

Overrated & Overpriced

For 310 EUR per person and night Warther Hof needs to deliver much better:

- upon arrival we were told that the family suite booked and confirmed was not available but two separate rooms instead
- with this information we were left waiting (with a crying baby) in the reception area for 30 minutes
- to cut a long story short, after lot of debating, room changing and time waisting suddenly the booked family suite magically was available
- the service nightmare continued at diner (Warther Hof can provide good service as they proofed the three evenings we had diner at the table next to us - friends of the owners and regulars I guess)
- a black bug in the room's toilet smiling to me from top of the toilet paper
- on the plus side: location for skiing
- food to a certain extent
- over all Warther Hof seems stretched to be a (i) Hotel for skiing guests, (ii) a lunch restaurant for the general skiing crowds, (iii) a Wellness Hotel ??? (it lacks atmosphere, service quality and attitude) and a top class restaurant for its guests and the general public

! only go there if you are desperate to be close to the skiing lifts, friends of the owners or Swiss Francs rich with all the exchange rate excitements !

Nice facilities, staff, food, but check if it is a renovated room

Rather last minute we booked this hotel for 4 nights in the summer. We were pleasantly surprised by the overall service attitude of the staff, courteous and attentive. The arrangement included breakfast, dinner and a so called 'jausen', a sort of late lunch. Mixes of buffet and table service. The buffets were very large, lots of choice, fresh. The dishes were nicely plated, but the taste would not always compete with the looks. They look nicer than they sometimes taste. Perhaps the Austrian style is not always ours, so tastes can differ. Dinner would have at least 6 courses. The facilities include fitness, inside and outside pool at a very pleasant temperature and very well maintained, and sauna. For wintertime there is a nice ski-cellar (you can even order maintenance of your equipment in-house). In the summertime you can wash and dry your hiking boots there as well. Kids entertainment is there in theory, but for teens practically absent. Hiking the area is fine, the lift up the mountain at the front door. Apparentely there are renovated rooms, which we did not have. On the contrary: our room was rather oldish with really hard beds. Really too hard with pillows that are not comportable either. This was really noticeable in the way you get up in the morning. We asked for different pillows but they were hardly any better. So we used our own which we brought from home in the car. Given the luxury of the hotel itself this was a disappointing feature. So be sure to check if you are placed in a new room at the time of booking. You can book some activities through the hotel (canyoning, climbing, rafting) which is fine and at a reasonable summer rate. The town is small and in summer low key: very different from the more mondain Lech which is nearby. If you like hiking or just lazying around, the hotel fits these purposes.

Well in Austria

Sad to leave this hotel. It makes you feel good, being Wellnesshotel Warther Hof. We felt good. The stay was just too short. Well, my husband, John, and I were among a group of 12 BMW bikers on a 9-day Europe tour over 5 countries.
After a long 9-hour ride from Switzerland, we arrived at the hotel in Warth am Arlberg, Vorarlberg, Austria, for a well-earned soak in the pool and a very good dinner.

Our huge room with a balcony, has views of the Alps and we could imagine how magnificent it would be in winter with white-topped mountains and wintry crags.

Vorarlberg is the westermost federal state of Austria, sharing borders with Germany (Bavaria), Liechtenstein, and Switzerland and the Austrian federal-state of Tyrol.

In December, it is a wonderland of amazing ski resorts and in summer, it attracts visitors wanting to experience local culture and see the tranquil lakes, thundering rivers and castles and savour lots of cheese.

We didn't have time to visit The Bregenzerwald - an area of velvety hills, granite spires, and villages studded with farms and dairies where Alpine cheeses are made.

However, on our ride back to Erding, Germany, we were nudging up against farmhouses, cows with their huge cowbells, modernist houses with pale wood, glass walls and interesting architectural features.

a little luxury

Lovely modern rooms, fantastic 6-course dinner. Massage thrown in with the package, what's not to like...? The spa area is a little dated and not so many different types of saunas but the rest of the package makes up for it.
