I stayed here for two nights. The big issue with this hotel is the lack of feeling secure due to the poorly fitting bedroom doors and their ancient door locks. Wether I was going to sleep or going out for a walk I was always concerned about how easily someone could get into my room. As a lone traveller it caused me much anxiety.
Also if using public transport there is no return bus stop close by. So walking around in an unknown area after dark is also scary. I got SO lost after the bus driver gave me the wrong directions for after I got off the bus. I ended up having to stop a taxi and asking for their help finding my hotel. NOT for the faint of heart in a strange country. I have to say that 98% of the staff in this Hotel are lovely, and very helpful. The breakfasts are good, but the dishwashing machine may need its filters cleaned a little more often as the silverware, and cups felt grainy.

6 people for carvery lunch, i had corned beef, cabbage, carrots, mash, roasties and gravy and it was absolutely gorgeous, the joint of corned beef was so succulent and tasty as nice as i remembered it, i always have it when travelling to Dublin.

Last week I brought a friend who is recovering from a hip replacement and on crutches for lunch in the West County Hotel bar. Ample parking directly outside and no steps. The carvery lunch offered several choices. I had a half portion of silverside and my friend the Irish stew. Both meals were delicious and the complimentary tea/coffee was brought to our table after the meal. You never feel rushed here and the service was excellent. Plenty space at the tables and of course great views.

I stayed when storm 'Ophelia' hit Dublin and people were advised to stay indoors during the day. The staff were great and the bar was a good place to spend most of the day (Supplies of Guinness held out!).
The hotel has plenty of free parking and is perfectly situated for the main N4 to the west. There are frequent buses into the city centre from opposite the hotel.

Our stay was an layover while in Dublin. The hotel is about 25 minutes from the airport. The beds & bedding were very comfortable. The rooms were a bit outdated. The complementary breakfast was very nice with eggs, ham & sausage. It was nice to have a restaurant within the hotel with good food.
