We spent one night to start to Sequoia Park in the morning.
It was perfect for this goal.
Spacious rooms, regular breakfast, comfortable beds, quiet place, convenient location.
We arrived around midnight and check-in process was not fast as the receptionist went to sleep already. Well, that was fair :) so it was not a big deal.

There are many rooms in this melting pot of the world, but it is way too noisy and just too old to be a good place to stay. The rooms are small, with thread-bare carpet and hard beds. There is a refrigerator and microwave, but they were so noisy, they had to be unplugged to be able to sleep. The walls are so thin, you can hear everything from the neighbors. The floors have not been vacuumed in years. The shower had spiders and insects in it. A local cat ran by with a rat in its mouth, happy to have helped a hapless guest from seeing it in their room! The pool and jacuzzi were repainted, but there was such a loud sucking sound from water circulation that you couldn't relax. The breakfast area was so small that with >40 people trying to mill around, it was impossible to get anything to eat or drink without causing an international incident. There was no internet, even though they claimed there was. Upon questioning, I was shown a small sign on the counter that said it was down for repair -- that day! It was the same for 3 days in a row! There are not a lot of choices this close to Sequoia National Park, but choose a VRBO or something else.

The motel and in particular it's rooms are quite dated, but have the necessary amenities. The beauty of the surrounding foothills and the generally lovely staff made me forgive the tired room. The breakfast was better than expected; the coffee was good, and there was some fresh fruit and yoghurt on top of the usual motel cereal and toast. The wifi is near useless when a lot of people are home, but works ok during "off hours".

This place is close to the Sequoia park (about 15-20 mins drive), the staff was great and the breakfast was nice and the pool and the outside looks great. if only the room itself didn't feel like a cheap hotel. (it wasn't cheap at all!)
The bathroom was dirty and old, the floor carpet had a long had stayed stains on it, and the bed felt like the sheets were at least 5 years old (old and not clean).
I'm not sure i would stay there again, or recommend it, unless you find a great deal and you are in a very low budget.
overall. it's fine for one night, nothing more than that.

No internet on whole property & they knew has been no good for ages. Booked it as it had internet, after we checked in they said it is not really any good?
