Nice ambience but ill managed

I had a bitter experience when I discovered that my rooms were sold to other guests in spite of having confirmed booking 6 months back. After altercation the management vacated the rooms (Pine) & Oak) but I really feel bad for those guests who were shifted to other rooms. Anyway the quality of food and the service was good, but the rooms were very small. The only pleasant experience about the resort is the serene environment around and the well managed garden of the resort.
Nice Getaway from the polluted and crowded Ooty town.

Its a nice place and well maintained. It has a good restaurant and are developing ayurveda spa, gym etc which they said will be up in a month.
Overall hospitality was good.
Only thing we had difficulty is with the cleanliness of the rooms, had a lot of house flies.
Even after cleaning some remained. Need to be a bit more careful about cleanliness. (house flies, stain on sheets etc).
I will definitely visit again and will recommend to all friends.
Overall a great place for Solitude and relaxation!!
Need to get better staff

The location was awesome with good scenic views. Place is almost 15kms from ooty and quite place. Cycles per hour are charged exorbitantly. Food was average..
Rooms and place ambiance were good. Phone extensions didn't work.
Fabulous trip

If you are looking for a relaxing and calm holiday then this the place.
Fantabulous and breathtaking View, clean rooms, extremely courteous and soft spoken staff. While ooty town is fully crowded, this resort which is 15 kms away from ooty boasts of scenic surroundings. You can never get closer than this to the nature.
The only point to be noted is you need to order your food an hour in advance as they take time to prepare.
There but not there

There but not there.
I was looking for a property that was away from the hustle bustle of the city and Western Valley was spot on. Since all the rooms were booked for the weekend, I was offered the honeymoon suite and I accepted it. The booking was handled by booking.com. Tariff per day 6000+taxes. Steep but I agreed.
The location is awesome. The view was breath taking. There are adequate arrangements made to sit and enjoy this marvelous view.
The check in was smooth however I was informed that I will have to pay extra for my 6 year old daughter. This was surprising. Never before I was changed for extra bed for her. I agreed and the check in was completed.
The room was average size for a Honeymoon suite. No extra emineties. The roof was low and room had quite a few signs of wear and tear. There were very few lights.
There were no towels in the room. Asked for them 3 times and then finally got 2 of them. There was no spare toilet paper roll. There was body bath gel in the wash room; however; no loof was available. There was no dental kit either. When I called the support number I was informed that dental kit was available for an extra charge. This took me by surprise. 6000+extra bed for 6 year old+ taxes and I am being asked to pay for a measly dental kit. I understand cost consciousness however this was ridiculous. This kills the customers service. When business starts taking priority over service expectations then it's a warning sign for the organisation. You are killing that experience that people expect.
The food served was delicious. Though on the expensive side. The only issue with the food was the inconsistency of taste. Same dish ordered over two days was totally different on each day. The other issue is that only a part of the menu is available. This can become a botheration because the hotel is in a remote location and you don't get anything around. Since the hotel does not have a fully functional kitchen, meal orders are taken in advance. The food served is cold or re heated in the microwave oven.
The hotel team members are outstanding. They are polite and engaging. Full points to them on politeness.
Total cost of stay for 2 days 19897, satisfaction 4/10. The cherry on the cake - can you pay the food and extra bed payment by cash. Wow!!!
Will I come back to this hotel ever again NO
Will I advise any one to stay here NO. This is not a hotel it is a guest house located in an awesome location.
Thanks Western Valley for being there but not being there.
