Nice hotel although left disappointed

We stayed overnight at the White Hart Hotel to break up a long journey. The hotel was lovely and traditional the room was clean. We had a room on the second floor which you could see the cathedral. Lots of little places to visit close to the hotel. We got parked very easily.
Unfortunately our stay was ruined by guests in a room above us making a lot of noise talking and banging around for around 2 hours in the early hours. We did ring reception after 30mins and again after a further hour of noise. The second time round we did hear their phone ring but are not convinced they were asked after our first complaint. It was very frustrating as we had a long drive the next day which is why we booked the hotel. Reception did apologise at checkout, but after spending abit more on a hotel for treat is was quite disappointing more wasn't done at the time. Otherwise the hotel was nice.
Beautiful Hotel

Visited Lincoln for one night as a birthday treat for my partner. I booked a suite and requested a room with a view of the cathedral. We were given a four poster suite on the top floor with access to the roof terrace which had stunning views.
Room itself was well styled and spacious and lovely and quiet being the only room on that floor.
The location of the hotel is perfect, next door to the cathedral and round the corner from the castle. Lots of lovely cafes and shops nearby.
The free carpark was a bonus and no issue finding a space even though there was a wedding on the day of our stay.
Breakfast was tasty and served quick with lots of options.
I wouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone!
Excellent, Good, Could do better

This was our first visit to the White Hart and had high expectations from the website.
We arrived late morning and received an excellent greeting from the bar staff. We had missed the reception on the way in. Decided to have coffee, good quality but not very warm.
Parked the car in the garage across the road, convenient but not secure.
Reception was o.k. But no real greeting. “The room you are in is a little difficult to find but is well signed. You can take the lift to the second floor and then follow the signs”.
No offer of porterage. Staircase, after staircase.
Room was excellent but the amount of condensation on the secondary glazing was a little worrying. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent bathroom with good towels.
Breakfast was not what one would expect from a hotel of this standing. Order was simple, tea, toast and grill for two. The tea was forgotten, the toast was one slice of brown and one of white. The quality of the grill was excellent. Tea eventually arrived but one small pot. Our request for another pot and more toast took an age. No apologies were forthcoming. Training or retraining is required in this area. With the exception of check out, this is thd
A sheer pleasure

Booked to spend one night (Saturday). Lovely location situated on the top of Bailgate, surrounded by really unusual shops, delicatessens and eateries. Our room was lovely, comprising of a tastefully decorated bedroom with 4 poster bed, large bathroom and good sized sitting room which faced the cathedral. (Pictured above) Unlike some of the other reviews, our view was stunning. Copious amounts of towels, toiletries and robes supplied and the room was spotless. The TV also offers access to the internet & netflicks. The car park is situated further down the road and is busy but the code system works well.
One thing I would point out is that, due to the close proximity to the cathedral, you will hear the bells which we found lovely but some might not appreciate.
We received a warm welcome and the staff we met were polite and courteous. Will stay there again when we have longer to explore.
Pleasantly suprised

Stayed here after previously staying at the Doubletree Hilton.
Were visiting family and wanted to be more central - the White Hart was perfect.
Room was HUGE bed was the best I've ever slept in and the service & breakfast was faultless made even better by being near the Cathedral on such a poignant day ( Remembrance Sunday ).
Thank you to everyone
