After finding a hotel and rate that worked for my corporate travel rate, I booked at this location. Upon getting home and checking my credit card account I was charged over 3 times the value quoted. I highly doubt I can recommend this location to others much less any other member of my organization for future stays. Awaiting to hear back from property management.

The hotel itself is good, well located and clean. The restaurant staff is friendly with one young lady in particular. However, the receptionist wasn’t as pleasant and needs customer service training. Unfortunaly she is the 1st and last impression of the hotel and doesn’t leave the best one....

We consider the Royal Hotel, Winchester good value for money, excellent breakfast, courteous staff comfortable room overlooking the lovely gardens,and the best hotel in Winchester (we've stayed in many other hotels in Winchester) and when visiting our family this is the one and only hotel we will stay at. The other advantage is the hotel is situated right in the centre of the City.

We had a very pleasant one night stay. The room was in the hotel building and was very charming, overlooked the garden and was very quiet and comfortable. The 2 course meal included in the price was lovely and all staff were very helpful and friendly. Only negative would be non existent WiFi, and very disappointed that the Christmas Market was not open despite the deal being advertised as such.

Right in the centre of Winchester but when in your room you would not know, garden view and very quite.
Staff were friendly and helpful. parking is right by the hotel but it was tight so get in early
Lots of good restaurants close by so good for a night or two
