Delicious vegeterian lunch platter (thali)

The Woodlands restaurant offers a delicious, healthy and wholesome vegeterian lunch and dinner platter (thali). The food is served traditionally on a banana leaf. It includes vegetables and lentils cooked as per Karnataka cuisine requirements. The meal ends with and Indian dessert a fruit and paan (betel leaf and condiments). The ambience is clean and the staff are efficient in service.
A little organization would help

A very popular place but very disorganized. This all vegetarian place is more like a cafeteria. Very busy and a decent assortment. Waiter staff friendly but rushed. Food is typical of the area. Good Dosas
Very good Budget hotel

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in the 3rd week of November. The Hotel had done some good renovation work, and looks very neat and tidy. It has ample parking space, and a huge reception area. Food, though vegetarian only was excellent. The typical South Indian breakfast was great. The curtains in the room (607) were shabby and not clean and needed a wash or replacement, but otherwise the room decor was good. Location wise it is great as it has proximity to MG Road and Brigade road. Will stay here again.
Hotel part is run down BUT....

The banquet halls are still ok with good south Indian food served on traditional Banana leaves . OK for 50 to 250 persons at reasonable rates and prices. Friendly and attentive service. Nearby parking
"Tasty plantain leaf food"

The hotel has two restaurants, Sunheri and Woody. Went to the former for Lunch. The food is served in plantain leaf between 12 and 3 pm. The lunch hall is huge with superb ambience. The thali is fixed but has variety. Nice south Indian one. Puri, few sabjis, rice, bisibelebath, sambar, rasam and a sweet. All items were delicious. The pineapple chatni took the cake. Service is top notch. Not so crowdy. The only problem, if at all, was that after serving of the sides, puris came a bit late. Cost for two of us came to 625 rupees.
