One of the best hotels & located at prime location in Pahalgam offering wonderful views. It's a heritage hotel with big & spacious rooms. Ever since terrorism has hit Jammu & Kashmir, it has affected tourism in this unstable region & so has affected the hotel & the staff. We were lucky enough to get rooms in this hotel offering Lidder River view. The staff is equally good & wellbehaved. This is a very plush hotel with good & prompt service. The internet sucks.
This hotel WAS good, not any more

Stayed here with family for two nights.
Ambience & Building:- To start with, this was a good hotel once upon a time. Giving a feel of stone made mansion with two wings. Presently only one wing is accessible as the other one almost collapsed because of lack of maintenance (?). Has a big garden where you can sit with a hot cup of tea in the evening or early morning
Room:- Spacious with very old switches and boards. The collapsed wing's room windows would have given a better look of snow caped mountains and adjacent river. Hotel provides Kettle and tea/coffee bags
Food:- Haven’t tried anything from the hotel's kitchen as the notice board in the lobby says "our prices are quiet high as we are having zero occupancy in 9 months in an year(!!) bla bla. However after trying so-called eateries outside (results were below expectation) gave a try for their room service, which turned up a good experience- Tandoori chicken was a bit underdone, though
Staff- again no service etiquette or helping mentality, if you ask some thing you may get a replay. (The same notice board says our staff is not professionals, as we don’t have much guest year around to hire professionals- Seriously? You train your staff to please your guest and you will get more occupancy- that’s what I think
Overall- If you just want to stay overnight after a busy sight seeing, this place is enough. Order food but ask them to check the doneness before it reaches in front of you!
PS: I would be happier if my visit was in February or March than in June as there was no snow in Pahalgam when we were there!

We stayed at Hotel Woodstock for a night as a family of 3 people in April 2017. It has excellent location advantage as it is at the end of the main market. All shops & eateries are within 2-10 minutes walking distance. Taxi stand is also nearby so very convenient to book cabs for sight seeing. As the tourist season had not begun, we were offered a 50% discount without even asking for it. We didnt try meals there as due to very few guests, their kitchen wasnt fully functional. But as Sagar Ratna & Dana Pani were right next door, meals were not a problem. The reception itself arranged a cab for us for sightseeing. Aru Valley & Betaab Valley are also easily accessible from the hotel. The room was comfortable though lights could have been brighter. Our room offered a great view of the snow clad mountains. The property had a big lawn near the Lidder river. There was a gas heater in the room to keep the temperature comfortable. All in all, the hotel is full value for money.
Breathtaking view, lovely Backyard, friendly staff.

Wonderful experience. Good system to keep the guests warm through the chilling nights. Bed heaters, external heaters, hot water, everything so convenient. Clean rooms. Good backup system at times of power out.
