Heritage stay

We had a wonderful stay. We planned this place after one of our close friend suggested to try here.. Palace.. Truly a heritage stay..
Among the hill stations of himachal, shimla is the one I keep at the bottom of list because of its popularity and congestion.. Woodville palace made our stay memorable with a completely different experience..
The palace belongs to one of the Raja family of himachal, who still stay in one part of this location.. They have a wonderful garden around.. A old bar with many collections of the 1940 s. The food place has limited options..
We had a noisy surroundings till 10 pm as three different parties were going on simultaneously.. It was heaven in the morning 😊👌
Poorly maintained Hotel

Location is not good. Needs maintenance. Food is average. Stayed there for two nights in the first week of December 2016. A heritage hotel with lots of photographs of Royalties. Serving time for food is average 40 minutes.
A Regal Experience

A hotel created out of an erstwhile palace, the place has a quaint aura with modern comforts. The decor complements and retains the regal glory whilst accommodating the appliances of today. The place is centrally located on Raj Bhavan Road which lures the patrons in the small hours of morning for a walk along the quiet avenue. The buffet spread during breakfast and dinner is adequate and tasty. The staff is prompt and courteous. Highly recommended
Calm, relaxing weekend

This place is a lovely old palace of the Jubbal Family. Coming straight to what I loved most in order of priority.
1.) Food!
When you visit, you must must must book their dinner buffet. The Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken I’ve had here is simply amazing. The naans that they serve are super fresh and soft. The daal and other subzies were good too. Chinese was avoidable + Desserts are average.
There’s a Hollywood Bar too which you can visit for a round of drinks.
2.) The Palace
The property is well kept with green lawns and vine creeping walls. The gardens bloomed with flowers or all kinds. We enjoyed our time basking in the warm October sun.
3.) The Vicinity
The road down from the palace is a lovely walk to the Mall Road. No honking scooters and buses. You hit the bustling part of the City within 20 mins.
BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY-POORLY MANAGED

A Palace in days gone by, a beautiful property with a superb location, however, that's all... the property needs a lot of work and investment to call it a palace! the rooms are really shabby...anything but Imperial! Advice to the owners to avoid constructing more accommodation and to focus on quality instead, lesser properties nearby have all updated their accommodation and are far better.
