We have not stayed at this hotel before. When we checked in, we had reserved for a completely different set of days....our fault. The desk told us they could accomodate us and made the changes right then and there. The entire process took only about 7 minutes. We discovered our room had recently been recarpeted and updates had been made to the shower walls and bathroom floor. It's an old hotel, but they have done a good job of modernizing where they can. The bed was comfortable and our only room complaint is that the heating/cooling unit was erratic at best. It is one of those units that is mounted below the window, so when the unit was off, sitting on that side of the room, the cold could be felt coming in through the unit and around it. When the unit was blowing heat, it was one of those things where you had to move to avoid the blast...curtains blowing and generally not a steady air temperature situation. The back stairway we used often as it was near our parking spot. The hallway had not been touched in the 3 nights we were there...candy thrown around and generally in a neglected state. When we mentioned it to the front desk on our departure, they were frustrated that the staff had not addressed it and indicated that it was part of the staff duties to address and clearly hadn't been. They appologized and promised to follow-up. The free morning breakfast options were meager and disappointing. Pretty much coffee, a cellophane wrapped pastry, juice and a choice of an orange or banana. If you wanted yogurt, you had to ask at the desk where they kept it, for some reason. The location has a large restaurant attached with a large bar with many screens for sporting events. I am still on the fence as to whether we will stay here another time.

Needs some cosmetic fixes, paint, clean rugs and air fresheners. The heat made lots of noise. Sounded like something was in there trying to get out. When you turn up the heat, system didn’t kick on for approx. 5-10 minutes.

The floor plan of the building shows this is an older hotel. But they have done a very good job remodeling. My room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was extremely professional and pleasant. When in Rochester, I will stay here again.

A bit disappointed as reserved handicap room and was told upon check in there is only one handicap room in this hotel, which had been rented since Oct 1. Also, water leak between 1st and 2nd floor in main hallway; therefore it appears this resulted in all ice machines to be turned off - no ice available on any floor.

Needs to be kept up better

Water stains on the ceiling, stained carpets, rusty stains that look like a bad blow out in the toilet... needs some TLC.....
