This was my second stay with them and I stayed for 5 nights in a 4 bed female dorm. The room was spacious, clean and provided lockers. Bathroom was clean as well. The kitchens are great and the staff is very friendly.
Will stay again in a couple of weeks and can definitely recommend!

Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean, safe and welcoming atmosphere. Colourful, bright dining area. Stayed in 4 bed female dorm, plenty of space and light from large windows with view of harbour. YHA across from New World supermarket too.

I stayed for 3 nights in a single room with TV and ensuite, and that it felt more like a comfortable hotel than a backpackers. Nice touches in the room were towels, earplugs, tea/coffee and a welcome chocolate bar.
Staff were exceptionally friendly and proactive in offering help and guidance. I felt very welcome here.
Location is great - one short block to the airport bus and other local buses; a major supermarket and lots of bars and restaurants within two blocks; the waterfront and the Te Papa Museum are within easy walking distance.

We stayed in a private room & were allowed to check in early. Hostel is centrally located with supermarket opposite. Two well equipped kitchens. Helpful staff on attractions & how to get to the airport. Have stayed previously in a room which fronted the street & was a bit noisy with the fire station opposite. This time we were in a room off the main street which was much quieter & I will try to get a similar room next time. Really feel comfortable at YHA Wellington.

It was tidy, the rooms were nice and the shared facilities were clean!! Better than I expected. Plus the location is great, with a supermarket directly across the street and within walking distance from Te Papa, Cuba St, cafes and bars.
