Great place
Alexandradu2016on 22/08/2016 15:54I stayed at Yildiz Hotel for 8 nights, me and my friend. We enjoyed staying here because of the warm place and warm people.
The hotel is 300 m far from beach, so also has good location. Nice and clean swimming pool and good breakfast.
We had a room at 1st floor with big terrace and a beautiful view.
The staff of the hotel and the owner was everytime there to help. Nice people and nice place to have a beautiful and relax holiday.
We recommend :)
We enjoyed our stay
Stefanauskason 19/08/2013 15:50All in all, we enjoyed our stay here.
To start with the pros:
- helpful and very friendly staff
- nice pool with lots of green around
- nice restaurant, we were happy with the food and they have decent prices
- pool table:)
- room was ok/clean, bed was comfortable
- close to the beach
cons:
- it is super noisy during the night as being close to a club (I suppose it's difficult to find a quite place in Gümbet, however)
- The toilet was squeezed into a corner which was a bit uncomfortable
I don't know about the prices, we didn't research that much but I think that it was really fair. (50TL/person in a double room, high season).
It was just enough to get a "very good":)
Flexible staff, laid back atmosphere
ED1986on 04/08/2013 09:47My husband and I stayed here for about a week. The staff were very flexible as we extended our stay several times, one night at a time. They let us pay for everything upon check out, including the few meals we had at the restaurant. The breakfast wasn't spectacular and always exactly the same. The pool area was really nice and relaxed, complete with billiards and air hockey, and the restaurant was surrounded by beautiful flowering trees. The hotel was overall quite charming and in a great location. We never had an issue bringing in drinks from outside, so they may have changed this policy, since some of the older reviews.
Not much to keep us there.
Nerys1992on 31/07/2012 12:45After already visiting Gumbet once in June, my friend and I were just looking for a cheap place to put us up on our spontaneous and rather unplanned return in July.
We stayed here for 5 nights from the 8th of July.
The hotel is very quaint and sweet.. it has lots and lots of lush greenery and flowers about the place, the rooms are small and impractical but charming.
It is a family run hotel and I believe that many would find this a lovely place to stay that provides good value for money. While we stayed though, we were literally in and out of the room.. we didnt go to the pool once.. that is not so much the fault of the people running the hotel though, as it all looked very nice but we felt that it was uninviting with only men (staying, we presumed) occupying the areas around the pool..... we briskly gave that a miss!
Good;
Staff friendly (language barrier issue, but was quickly overcome)
Rooms acceptable
Nice plants...lol
Gorgeous and MASSIVE balcony (no view though)
Not so great;
Bathrooms so small... can shower while on the loo!!
Tiny potential in-let for bugs - Gap in door.
Toilet trouble...
It didn't work, they fixed it... next day they give us a knock to explain that either the toilet or the shower has leaked water to the room downstairs...
Had they said this to people with no sense of humor I'm sure they may well have been SLATED in a review, but it just so happens that we found this funny as we're pretty laid back... Problem was fixed within the hour though.. so no big issue even with that.
I can only speak as I find.. I have noted my experience of this place for others to make up their own minds...
Would I stay here again? Probably not.. We paid £100 each for our stay here.. I feel, had we looked around, we may have gotten more for our money.
On the upside... location is great in terms of beach and bar street (although we only go to BItez beach anyway so was rather expensive for us by the end..) The only bad part about the location is that the road that leads up to the hotel which is about 100yds can look dark and a little uninviting at night... we were rather familliar with the area though so this was no problem for us.
I'm 20 and like to relax in the day by the pool listening to music etc so this hotel was not for what I'd like.... if you just want to use this place to store your luggage and get a few hours each night you'll be fine.
We were out every night so I can't comment on how the breakfast was, I' m afriad... we were never awake to see it!
Good price, but don't spend time there
Ian Hon 12/07/2012 15:12Hotel is in pretty dirty area of Gumbet, but it is really near the beach and famous "Bar street". Good sides: food, staff, wireless connection, but all other things are not bad, but also not good - rooms, toilettes, pool is also pretty small... I can reccomend you this hotel if you are going with your friends in a low-budget trip, but with your girlfriend or family... no way.
