We were on a motorcycle trip from Midwest to California Hwy 1 and back. Humboldt House Inn was clean, had a great staff and quite possibly the best night we spent on our two week tour. Very friendly staff. We are platinum rewards member and were treated very well.

My wife and I have been staying here many summers over the past several years. We enjoy our family reunions, many of us camp and we enjoy Humboldt House! They make their breakfast and we walk to the complimentary breakfast. As seniors we get the best of both experiences.

The meet and greet, the room, to the continental breakfast where all well executed !! Even had a wine and cheese tasting !! Kids loved the pool and spa amenities. The staff all provided valuable information for food and travel, my " Best " experience at a motel ever !!
Like and old shoe – aged but comfortable

An ageing (late 70s?) motel-type property that is almost assuredly the best Garberville (pop. <1000) has to offer. It has been well maintained and is a pleasant enough place to stay but its best years are past. For Garberville, it’s probably very good but in the wider marketplace it would struggle to score average.
The good: check in was efficient and courteous. Our guest rooms were generous, clean, comfortable and in good repair. The beds were comfortable, the linens fine and there were enough pillows to find one that suited most tastes. Most everything expected was there and it all worked as expected. The bathrooms are like a tour through a museum of twentieth century restroom architecture but all the necessities were there and they all worked fine. The included wifi worked well on all our devices. Car parking was – a la motel – right at the door of our rooms. Breakfast is a better-that-average BW buffet affair with paper plates and plastic cutlery taken in a pleasant and well-tended dining room overlooking the pool.
The not so good: many of the guest rooms face Garberville’s main street so some traffic noise is unavoidable but Highway 101 is sufficiently removed to silence most of that. We booked “pool view” rooms to monitor the grandchildren travelling with us. The pool was assuredly visible by hanging off the edge of the balcony of the rooms but it was a long way off which largely defeated the purpose and cost. We were only there for the night so it was hardly worth a face-off. The décor and furnishings are last-century chain-hotel standard with faux-stucco walls, floral wallpaper and a patina of age. The air conditioners are from another era and given the torrid weather were overnight essentials: so were earplugs.
