Nice hotel on short notice.
paul60iion 01/08/2017 03:11Stopped here on my way out east to Maine. Didn't make a reservation in advance but they were able to accommodate me with a room on short notice on a Saturday night. King suite room with whirlpool tub. Huge spacious room, nice bathroom. Carpet is a little worn down, probably time to replace. Room was a little pricey.
After complaining still mo result
Kim Bon 27/07/2017 18:30We have been here since Monday now day 4 of no hot tub. They keep just trying to give $5 for the already over priced market place. Good customer service, but apparently staff doesn't know how to fix stuff.
Beyond BAD
ShellGirl057on 13/07/2017 21:50I learned a whole lot about the hotel business here.
Check-in was pleasant enough but our rooms weren't the type of rooms requested and weren't adjacent (as requested)--even though these requests were made and confirmed weeks before our arrival. Some lights wouldn't even go on in our first room.
Although the hotel appeared less than full (at 9 pm, no rooms were lit on at least half the floors, the parking lot was less than 1/4 full and the downstairs group areas were basically empty), the front desk told me that they were "full" and could only offer a couple of (non-adjacent) rooms on the first floor.
I have no idea how they could put us in those first floor rooms. Indescribable smell (mold? mildew? staleness? bodies?), dim lighting, disgustingly stained rugs (actually looked like blood in one spot) and one had a barely cool-ish refrigerator with a stream of water constantly dripping onto the refrigerator shelves below. My food got wet and had to be thrown out. The room was right next to a utility closet constantly used by janitors. The sounds of machinery and janitors coming and going was impossible to ignore.
I was so tired, I tried to block out everything but finally became so outraged I went back to the desk. After insisting that they give us two other rooms, they finally "found" two rooms. These rooms were slightly more expensive--no doubt the reason they weren't "available" in the first place. The third set of rooms were fine. Not perfect but fine. Our stay in the third rooms would have been ok if it weren't for the two room moves beforehand, the lies from the front desk and our very regrettable experience on the first floor.
A final insult, however--once I showered and got to bed, someone was trying to open my door. I looked out and saw two young men with suitcases trying to figure out why the door wouldn't open all the way (I had the safety latch on). They actually had a key to my room and could have opened the door all the way if the latch didn't stop them. I told them "it's occupied" and they left. I called the front desk and they said they had no record of me being in that room but would now record the fact that it was occupied. If I wasn't so tired, I probably would have been up wondering what was next.
This was on a group trip with two large tour buses. I heard numerous complaints from others (ex. lights not working, rooms not cleaned, even sheets that were not changed). I have never experienced anything like it. This is a known hotel chain in a respectable town where room rates can go up to $300 when there is a game.
What I learned: (1) In the off-season, they only clean certain floors and rooms, (2) the other floors and rooms aren't even habitable and (3) the staff is either very wily or has no idea what they're doing. They seemed completely understaffed and unprepared.
Sorry
DenverJim48on 12/07/2017 23:12I really wish I could write a good review, but I can't. When we arrived at our suite there was a musky smell. Later I thought it might be because it was next to the laundry room. We thought that maybe we could still make this room do, but the air conditioner was not pumping out any cold air. When I went by the window to check it out, I noticed dirt caked on the windowsill and cobwebs all but covering the window inside the curtains. I contacted the front desk who moved us to an ADA room across the hall. No odor or cobwebs, but this a/c kept running no matter what temperature setting you did. Just decided to grin an bear it. Took a shower the next morning, but the ADA safety bar was so close to the water handle, that it blocked us from turning the handle to get hot water. Will never stay at this hotel again and would not suggest that anyone else to. Also the wifi was so slow that I gave up.
Averages out to 3
EHarkinson 12/07/2017 22:26The hotel could use a little refreshing. I was a little concerned about letting my kids walk around barefoot in the first room we were given. The carpet was very stained and there was a musty smell in the air. I think it was because the air conditioning wasn't working well. When my husband went to turn on the faucet, the cold water didn't work.
He went to talk to the staff and they were very friendly and helpful. They moved us across the hall that was in better condition with a working air conditioner.
The hot tub was out of order and there is a lot of peeling paint in and around the pool. The outside lounge area looked inviting and I did like how the staff had placed plenty of towels neatly around the pool for easy access.
I'd give the hotel a 2 but the staff a 4.
