We stayed in Thanjavur for 2 days. Nice budget hotel. (Double bed AC room @ ₹ 1600. Extra bed ₹.400. plus GST. Breakfast included. Rooms are spacious, neatly maintained. Service is good. Very co-operative staff to solve any issue. Good ambience. Only drawback, WiFi is erratic and most of the time internet does not get connected. Otherwise, value for money.

It is located on a large road, but a bit to one side of the town and is therefore relatively quiet. On the other hand, it is about 3 - 4 km from the Brihadeeshwarar temple (the Big Temple in local parlance!). Other restaurants, etc are also some distance away. (Since we had a car this was not an issue, and of course there is an in-house restaurant, (where we only had breakfast).)
There is car parking in the compound for about a dozen or so cars.
The room (platinum suite) was a surprise. We actually got a small flat (apartment) with two bedrooms (one attached bath) and a hall and another bath & toilet accessed from the hall. (Wish the toilet had a wash basin though.)
Breakfast buffet spread was alright (idly, vada, uthappam, bread, boiled eggs tea, coffee), but slightly lesser variety. Taste was fine.
(We stayed for 1 night and so we have no experience of room cleaning etc.)

I am writing this minutes after the hotel guy at the other end told me to coolly cancel my booking for tomorrow after I have paid and I called up personally saying of my early check in at 8 am before I bookedand the authority assured me yes I can and today when I called up again they said additional charges for early check in and even after I told them that I am checking out the same day and their website says flexible check in no they jus said you please cancel ..im a lone women traveller and I will never recommend this sort of murky dealing hotel now I am searching again .very sad state of affairs abhis inn .

We reached there quite early in the morning, around 7 as we were coming from Chennai by train. The hotel does not offer early morning check in. The usual check in is 12 o' clock in the afternoon. However, the hotel concierge was very polite and extremely helpful and even though we reached early against their policy he made us wait only 15 minutes or so and got the room ready for us. Because of that we saved the day and by the time we would have checked in to the hotel, we were out sightseeing the great Brihadeeswar temple of the city.
The rooms were very nice with great decor and windows opening to let in nice air and light with views of trees in the garden. There was an ante-room for entertaining guests with sofa and table. Bathrooms were nice too. It is located on the highway and on a quiet location.
I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Thanjavur.

The room was a bit dated. The coffee table needs replacing it was very wobbly, we were concerned it would fall over.
It was nice that our room had a sit out area seperate to the bedroom. It was very useful for the kids to play.
The food was average but the staff very helpful and friendly.
Location not so good, it was a fair way from the temple and palace and the rickshaw drivers not very willing to bargain.
